At work this evening we heard a rumour that Holden are going to offload another 1000 of its employees for further down-sizing, and they are on the verge of releasing the VE. Only a rumour at this stage, but they have already made heaps of people redundant.
Also Mitsubishi are reducing their daily build sheet to 15 cars. It seems that the 380 may have been too little, too late. But everyone knew that. Toyota are getting ready for the launch of the new Camry, and then the Aurion. All of the mufflers that are for the new car are now coming from japan in containers to which we then weld them into a complete system. Will they go completely from Japan? time will tell. And good old Ford are still plodding along happy with business. I dont think they will be going off shore at all and its silly for anyone to think that as at work we have already started development on the next ford project for 2008 i believe, codename "ORION".

Well i'm not sure about all that but here's a link to the new camry, and as far as their press release goes everything seems to be travelling nicely for Toyota. As far as what's going on behind closed doors, i couldn't say..

Things seem to be getting better with Mitsu, they have had two good months. It's just gonna be interesting when the VE comes out. Hopefully they can find some more export markets.
