ttps://www.dagens.com/autos/three-men-sentenced-for-stealing-150-speed-traps.
'Three men, dubbed the "camera trap league" by the media, were recently sentenced to prison for their roles in stealing and vandalizing 150 speed cameras across Sweden. According to the Swedish media outlet UNT, the thefts were first noticed in August 2022, when Sweden’s Transport Agency found eleven broken speed cameras on a road in Uppland. Initially thought to be isolated cases of vandalism, police quickly became suspicious as more cameras were stolen across the regions of Uppsala and Stockholm. By autumn, the number of stolen cameras reached 150, with estimated losses soaring into the millions. Later, an anonymous tip led police to two men from Norrtälje, who had allegedly been trying to sell stolen camera equipment on the trading platform Blocket. When police raided the suspects, they found one man hiding 22 stolen cameras under his bed, with another camera openly placed on his desk. Chat messages on their phones and handwritten notes found at the crime scenes further linked the men to the crimes. Court Rulings and Sentences Based on the collected evidence, the court imposed varying prison sentences on the men. The primary defendant, who was found hiding 22 cameras, received a sentence of one year and four months for grand larceny. A 26-year-old accomplice was sentenced to one year and six months, and a third man, aged 25, received a prison term of one year and ten months for grand theft. Although the Transport Agency sought compensation, the court denied their request. The case is one of Sweden's largest incidents of mass vandalism.'

Just a shame they got caught, I think everyone wishes they could take out a revenue rais..I mean speed detection safety cam.
Not a fixed camera as such, but about 6 months ago we had a speed limit change not far from us. I've lived in the area on and off for almost 40yrs and the series of intersections where the speed reduction has been implemented has never been considered a black spot, nor have there been many accidents. In the 6 months since the limit was reduced the fines they've handed out have been off the charts. There is a side road a good 300m up from the new 60 zone where on any given day you will see 2 motorcycle cops with radar guns pinging car after car, its not uncommon to see them both having stopped cars at the same time and this goes on all day, day after day. Now I'm sure they are saving the world 1 or 2 speeders at a time, however, last Friday was the first real hot day we've had and guess what....not a motorcycle cop in sight. Apparently revenue rai...I mean, road safety, on matters when the weather permits. |

Wouldn’t be surprised if the cucked Swedish authorities gave these guys a harsher sentience than those who contribute to the country being the (reported) rape capital of the world.
I see there’s videos going around of people destroying or cutting down ULEZ cameras in England. |

hi
Try 100km/h to 60 km/h speed change at the end of a mid size blind sweeping bend . Speed camera central bikes cars etc . All the time . A new commercial subdivision caused the speed reduction . Oh yea it was changed to 80 km/h and the camera fest stopped |

There was a county in the States that gave up on fixed speed cameras as they kept getting shot out. One of the few times I’m pro gun.
