Just been reading about this project and thought I should post it up in here for anyone unaware.
Everything looks they have got the visuals and dimensions of a 4 door to 2 door correct. Cant wait to see it finished. https://www.whichcar.com.au/news/two...gXqM%3D.S3fpgi |

Am I wrong in thinking this is either a current, or former member of AFF?
There was a guy a few years ago who had a build thread on an AU with modified bodywork, and that bootlid makes it think it was this car. |

Yeah that’s chazz. He built a really nice t1 to look like a T3, then built it again and again haha.
This is definitely his creation, but a different car. Pretty sure this is a legit t3 shell. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Yes, as Nstg8a said, It is Chazz's creation. And he was/is a Forum Member.
It's a genuine TE50 shell he bought stripped and he's rebuilt it his way. It's not what I'd do, but good on him for doing it his way. And yes he has another TE50 that I used to think was heavily modified, but now looks tame.

The one I’ve seen (in the flesh, mid 2019) was a darker red from memory. That was in outer Sydney. It had Monaro side glass, from memory. That was a finished car.
I laughed and commented to the owner, where it was physically parked in his shed is exactly where most Fordies park an XR-XY GT if they have one (there is quite a sameness to this shed pattern, strangely). |

Wasn't there also a gold / yellow one floating around that used MB Headlights?
Arrow Coupe for something?

LEGEND is all I'll say, outlier and a half - his other project looked mad and this will be next level, kudos to his dedication.
Good on you for posting this up ford71V8 worthy bringing it to the forums he used to frequent.

Interesting. Do they keep the original shape and lengthen the front doors, shorten the sedan or put it on top of a ute?

To me, the issue with that ugly looking green thing is in the ride height and wheel diameter, front wheels should be same diameter as rear, not width but height.
The front wheel arches being smaller than the rear just looks out of proportion to the whole car? Open front arches and same wheel diameter all round, then lift the back or lower the front, it needs to prowl not pose! PS- just run my scale rule over it and wheel diameter seems to be same, but something not right there, not sure what! Maybe Fibonacci sequence, but its wrong somewhere. I would do silly things to have an AU coupe.
All power to him, huge project. Hillers (?) did a few in the day, a chilli red and oxford green AU1 XR coupe which was also very sexy. The 300+ above is also mint and had a 4.6 S/C IIRC. Good times.

There’s also a very factory looking 2 door on here, I think it’s a red xr8.

Its out there and obviously not to everyones taste but it does look good, grabs your attention easily. This is a top build, can't wait to see it finished.

The ugly looking green thing has some sort of custom bumper and bonnet, they guy has tried to create teardrop headlights to make it look better, but he's actually made it look worse than standard, if that's possible.
The quick fix for any AU IMO is and XR* twin headlight front bumper - would have been much easier

Vesper
I assume your talking about the goldish/yellowish one lol..... From memory the headlights are from a MB. When this was on the build I had high hopes for I knew Roman Autoek who with Hilliers combined. I confirmed my headlight memory found the article. How tragic it all turned out. https://www.whichcar.com.au/features...-classic-motor that blue one is so horrid its not funny, yes what was in that persons head to come up with that monsterous fugly than fugly thing.

Reading through the current Street Machine mag, and what is featured in the Time Machine article?.... The red AU in this thread.
I'm thinking the online article in original post from whichcar.com was put up in connection with this article in the mag |

Definitely NW Syd area. Like me has had a hiatus from the forum for a while. Not sure if he has been back. resurrected a number of AUs ... and helped many a forum member. All-round top bloke. It has been out and about ... but I can understand his nervousness going out in General Public with it due to all the numpties on the roads.
