Just got these in at our other branch. Give the Koreans another few years and they will really be impressive. Bloody nice car as it is.

I don't mind that. Don't like the driving lights. Just don't belong. Looks similar to that Renault RS?

Out of the hyundai/kia twins I prefer the kia's styling more, hyundai's never look as good in real life as they do in photos.

Not a bad looking bit of kit, apparently the handling isn't too shabby either..certainly a step up from their previous offers.

It's a Kia, it's a Hyundai. Most likely what Ford, GM and Toyota said 10 years ago.

Dunno if 150kw really qualifies as a hot hatch, but I like it, but then I've always liked the newer kids, nice gear.
The optima I drove was real, nice, just a bit boring to drive. |

Still more then a Fiesta ST, Clio Rs and 208 GTi... I think the price may be an issue though, it sits above those options...Korean cars are meant to be cheap, right?

Wouldn't bother. There's always knockers.
As for it being more powerful than Clio rs, ST etc. What does the KIA weigh compared to those 2?

I think 0-100 is more a better comparison. Cee'D GT- 7.7 Focus ST- 6.5 Golf GTi- 6.4 Megane RS265-6 Veloster t-6.9 Kia is slowest no doubt. Value for money on the other hand..

**** it if was faster than another thing I competed against I would race it, but the korean GT car is not about racing, its about selling tin to consumers and making a profit about it.
Good styling, good warranty, good tech and good (not great) performance is what the likely punter who purchases said car wants. And to be fair I havent driven a sub 5 year old car that was crap I mean really bad handler, braker and performer, some better than others dynamically but not like the 70's and 80's where a cheap car was a thinly disguised coffin...how did we survive. I like the CEEEDEEDEEGTDD thing but probably wouldnt buy one but bet many will. JP |

That's quite an attractive car, a bit of style with a good warranty and reasonable build quality I see it selling quite well.
My current boss used to work for KIA motors (has worked for many carious car companies in the past) and said how far KIA cars have come, from cheap and only buy one if you cant afford anything else, to cars that are really competitive money wise. He also said that compared to other car manufactures he worked for KIA were pretty good with warranties. One question though, do you think it would be possible to fit one of these cars with a towbar? Just something simple for towing a small box trailer or jet ski. |

Hyundai/Kia could be doing so much more. They have had a 2.0GTDI since 2011 that put out 204Kw and 365Nm from 1800-4500 rpm. That's more than the Ford 2.0 EcoBoost, it's also more than the 2015 WRX. Why isn't Hyundai/Kia putting in Elantra and Forte with AWD?

http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthr...76#post5049076 Anyway i just got off the phone to a Dealer in Maroochydore BIG thank's to Nathan for hooking that up 2 things are not going to make it happen unfortunately... One is it isn't available in Techno Orange and that is a real deal breaker and Two is it is manual only ... Our KIA is the first Auto my missus has ever had and i doubt she would be too keen to go back to a clutch given the traffic flow up here... So YES it looks Awesome but NO we won't be buying one ..... i suppose i should never say never tho' |

I used my 4 door barina as a track day car while the race car was being built some years back, so wont argue about being of sound mind...And your Kia and this one would be quicker than the meaner barina! And I was actually agreeing, if it was fast and made a better base for a race car I'd be there. Unfortunately in IP I doubt we could make it go quick enough compared to the competition. Still is a good looking car with great warranty, should sell well and dont worry about color paint it... JP |
