Saw my first G6E tonight... too heavy traffic to get a pic (not that its really nessesary anymore) and I have to say I was incredibly impressed.
If I could afford one I would have one in my driveway tomorrow. Congrats Ford Austalia, the FG's are dead set the best looking car since the series 1 TS50 (OK I'm biased ;) ). But seriously, how can any of the compeditors match these things?? Go Ford! |

I think they look great, but i really dont like the rear end of them, I saw today on the way home an XR8 parked beside a VE SV6 & the VE rear just looked so much better for a V6 with dual pipes...

The thread title is false, this would have to be at least the 50th Sighting (thread for it at least : )

I personally dislike the rear of the VE.
It reminds me of Serena William's backside...big and obstructive. I honestly believe that if you put a BMW or Merc badge on the G6E, people would love it. However, it's "only a Ford" and therefore no pleasure can be derived from bragging rights with the county gentry in owning one.

Seen quite a few G6E(/T)'s around now, must be selling well for Ford.
They look very classy and seems to be becoming a very popular model. |

The back of the FG looks mad. The VE has one of the worst rears I've seen in ages, it's far to tall and looks gross with the tailights mounted so high.

Ive only seen a few FG's around and they've all been G-Series cept for one XR6 in the blue colour on the ad. Anyone spotted any XT's, XR's or even some FPV's?
Theres some Mondeos (not sure what model) getting around with a similar grill to the G6ET, I always have to double-take to make sure its not a G-series.

I Like em.
But I see the Chrome front end to be a bit 300c like, I think a bit less chrome would've been fine (perhaps like the previous fairmonts, maybe a tad more). I wonder how long before someone makes an intercooler upgrade to the shape of the G6Et front end and no one notices .

If you compare the G6E with the Calais, Aurion Presara and the Accord V6 Luxury, the chrome at the front sets it apart from the rest I reckon. Shows a greater level of class.
The Calais is just an Omega with fancier lights on the back, and maybe some better wheels. I did like the Honda's interior, although I found the central console to appear too cluttered. Its exterior I can't make a judgement on until I see it in the flesh. You could smear a Toyota in poo and people would still buy it. The chrome looks great and helps the front look more rounded.

Strangely, I haven't seen many FGs in the city (Sydney + surrounding suburbs) but I was
recently out in NW NSW (Tamworth, Inverell, etc) and saw a motherchucking shietload of them!
