After reading how bad EXA's are ( I thought they were OK) I was wondering what you all thought was a better car. My 16 y.o sister wants a coupe for under $3000
Eg Paseo, S coupe, EXA, celica, ??? Which are the best and what have I forgotten? I'm trying to get her into a hatch becuase there's so much more choice. Thanks in Advance. |

If you are going older car, Gemini is a great car but I had a 77 celica coupe. Loved it!!!

buy an xa-xc coupoe... she might get a roller lol best coupe you can buy...
personally stear clear of them... if you can, go for a nissan nx coupe, although anything like the above mentioned will more than likely be flogged and be falling apart...

I would think the Celica would be a solid choice - late 80's early 90's
http://www.carsales.com.au/used-cars...500&state_id=0 They shared alot of running gear with the Camry, so it's like a better looking Camry = relatively reliable. Otherwise buy a nice XA-XC coupe, so you can borrow it often!!  :

My missus has a celica for sale at the moment.

Get an RA60-RA65 celica, they were great cars and cost bugger all now. Then when she is done with it, you can drop a Lexus 4L V8 into it, it's been done before.

didnt even think about daihatsus... they are usually pretty reliable... and last a lifetime...
good little cars, excpet in an accident...

sorry to hijack yo thread!
im looking at a daihatsu charade 1Ltr engine, 3cycl, 5 speed manual... has anyone had one and how good are they, really... on fuel? i know they'll have no guts in 'em, no aircon etc...but worth it for something cheap on fuel?? any other recommendations? |

FFS this is a Ford forum and none of you thought of the KF laser . These are a reliable little car parts are easiy and cheap to obtain if needed and the were the first laser with the sloping back instead of the bubble. they can be picked up cheaply and if you get a live wire an S or a ghia they have a lively 1.8 injected engine . true they are not the most stylish car but hardly ugly either and an ideal 1st car

the TX3s are all GREAT cars
turbo or not they all go well MA61 (boxy mid 80s shape)celica supras are very rare and so parts are getting VERY hard to find but are an awesome car the Paseo is just a starlet with 2 doors and a boot

thanks, but an xr6 on gas...... i wish!
i am like tight on dough at the moment and looking into being a security guard(gotta do a course though grr), so.. im really in need of transport for work, when it comes along! next month is my only chance to score a $2,000 loan! so other than an xr6, and a charade, what do ya'll think about mitsubishi colts? or a laser etc? taking into consideration (although pushing it!) the car needs to have reg & rwc. |
