Default I hate it when people do this.

We've had this car, a small piece of s*** Hyundai something or rather, parked in front of our house for the last 4 or 5 days.

Now, what I think has happened is that they are staying at the neighbours or have gone away and left their car with the neighbours to look after. Its not dumped. But they park the ****er right next the the driveway and curb where I have to really swing around in my large vehicle. Now, my driveway is only a single one (not a double), so its hard to get it in when no cars are parked either side.

Hang on, I'm drawing a picture:

When I got home just now, I misjudged it slightly because a car was coming from the other way. That and there was a car parked on the left. The other car stopped and waved me in, but during my turn (which I knew I wasnt going to make properly), I hear this crunch. All is ok though. Checked it out. Thought I might have a nice scratch down my front left mag wheel.

Should I leave a note on this persons windscreen?

so basically you have an issue with someone who has LEGALLY parked their car outside your house? it's not a clearway! if you can't get in and out of you driveway when someone has parked legally then i think the issue may lie with you.

id call a tow truck and have it removed

or as 4vman said get someone to drag it away, then tell the idiot that if they park there again they can collect the cube

honestly why would you park right on the corner of someones driveway

Read it again, its a driveway, Not a Street crossing.

Parking correctly

When parking in a two-way road you must park on the left-hand side. You must get the left wheels of the car as close to the kerb as you can and leave at least a metre between you and the cars in front and behind.

You must park within the marked lines of the parking bay, and you must not park partly in and partly out of parking areas. You can be given a ticket for breaking any of these rules.

When you park your car and leave it unattended, switch off the engine, apply the parking brake effectively, remove the ignition key and lock the doors, otherwise you will be committing an offence.

Stopping across driveways

You must not stop across your own or another person’s driveway, or so close to the driveway that you stop a vehicle from driving in or out.

The only time you can stop is when dropping off, or picking up passengers.

It is an offence to stop on any nature strip or median strip, unless parking signs allow it.

I have to admitt, its a Pain in the .
Theres 2 things I can think of that are worse.
1: People that park in the second car spot on a 2 spot park (so you have to reverse into it)
2: people that use the second bowser at the servo. when there's a free on with the 'same' pumps in front.

Last time I checked (which WAS a long time ago, granted) you cannot park within 9m of an intersection. If this is still the case, get the old tape out and if it's too close, get it towed.

Yeah, its not an intersection though and I'm not 9m from one unfortunately.

Its morally wrong, thats all I'm saying. Theres plenty of space in front of the car and I think its the neighbours looking after it. They didn't park it in front of the neighbours house, did they?

Bloody stupid.

I can't stand it when people park straight on a corner.

Driveway, street, anything.

There's some retard who always parks on the corner at the end of our street and I've had a few close calls because of it.

I'm going to leave a note soon and if it persists I'll get it towed.

Just ring the Police and say you suspect the vehicle has been dumped ... they may get a tow truck out and have it removed for you.

Better yet, call the security hotline, tell them some shadey looking ethnics left it there and at the time you over herd them mentioning a big explosion.

At TAFE there was a White XR8 Ute parked in front of our roller door.

The Teacher just got a trolley jack and dragged it out of the way.

So just drag it down the street a bit further with a jack??

I dont think the Police will be interested unless it's a hazard. From experience I know if you call the local council they will send a ranger who will put a 24 hour removal notice on it then they will tow it and impound it. This works, trust me.

if the car was in the road, as you have said, for the last few days, why havent you spoken to the neighbors about it?
go see the neigbors, find out who owns it and ask them to move it.
any damage to your car is your own problem.

Irks me when people do that.. The worst one though is when people park on an apex, with their car 1/3 covering the road and you can't see around the corner!! Argh.

So have you called the neighbours? If they are not home, then just drag it a meter backwards or trolly jack.

Better yet, you could jack up the car, take off a wheel and leave a note to come and see you when they get back...

Have you got a towbar? More importantly, have they? tie your car to theirs with a strap, and move it back a few metres.
