EstaFiesta: where are you planning to get urs done? and what springs are you going to use? I'm trying to decide between SPAX 45mm or Eibach 35mm ... Anyone kno if it affects your warranty?

The springs cost me about $130, through a friend, last price I got for them was about 160ish, I had them sitting on a bench at work for just under a year before I got around to fitting them, they handle great, takes that little bit of unnnerving body roll out.
The rims I got as they were running them out got them real cheap, about $130 each. I think they really suit the car.

Hey Crispy. I have done no homework as yet, thinking the Kings though as I priced the Eiback's and they would have cost more than the car by the time I got them from Europe..lol..

Wil keep ypu posted if I get a local company to do the Kings.

My bad for bringing up an old topic, but does the "ride" feel smooth or would it be bumpy? Also whats a good set of springs that provides a lower car and a next to smooth ride?

I have the same springs. king lows variable rates etc.

Pretty darn firm if you ask me. On smooth roads there great. Get some dodgey roads and its a nightmare.

Yes. The ride can be harsh and bone rattling thanks to the Fiesta's already stiff suspension settings. That said, they handle like a go kart.

Over the past couple months i got thinking. If i had decided not to get a polo gti i would have bought some second hand ST fiesta springs from the uk and fitted them to my car.

Lower, slightly stiffer, but still comfortable. Probably overall provide a better handling package than 30 mm springs. Especially in the wet. These springs are just TOO stiff for wet weather handling.

May be something to do with the choice of tyres?

nah not really. Since its been lowered ive had three completely different sets of tyres on the car.

Stock 195/50/15 Turanzas, 205/50/16 NCT5 (yuk) and now bfgoodrich gforce sports.

the car was rough and bouncy with every set of tyres. I honestly thing these springs are too stiff for the wet.

photn,

buy some ST springs. and invest in GOOD tyres.

then get a front strut brace.
if you want slightly stiffer after this get a full new suspension nolathane bush kit from the uk.

It will remain comfortable, but be a tad lower than stock, and a tad stiffer.
