It was certainly less common - most of the ones I've come across had tan trim.
Cheers Russ

You have to remember that in the seventies car makers would happily add and/or delete option just about anything you wanted to cars. It makes it hard now for people who try to say "an XYZ will have exactly this sort of trim and colour"...
It all depends. Depends on what the owner wanted. I sold my Cortina GT to a guy who had owned an XB GS ute since new. With some convincing, he ordered it with a 351, 4 speed, that light purple metallic Ford colour, and silver striping, with a white interior. My late uncle did basically the same thing with a VJ Valiant Regal (delete optioning almost everything that made it a Regal apart from badges, oddly enough, even selecting the little 215 hemi over the "normal" 265) and also on a ZF Fairlane he also owned...deep purple paint, white interior, six cylinder (he didn't like V8's), auto, but went the other way to the Regal he owned at the same time and loaded it with power everything, air, power steer, the lot. |

Mum had a TC Cortina from new (2.0 auto) and it came with black basket weave trim.
My Aunty bought a 6cyl auto in wild violet with white trim, very nice car actually, wish she still had it. |
