I followed a porsche on St Kilda Road today, didn't pay too much attention to it, but it looked brand spankers. The number plate was 911997. I'm assuming it was one of these???

that is pretty hort looking... not taking anything away from porsche, but their sdesiogns are always similar... they still look good but dotn they guys... wait for the gemblla version...

Hey I was just wondering if that Porsche had rear parking sensors?
If you look closely the rear bar has those sensors that you normally see on the new commodores with rear parking sensors. Pretty cool but I dont think those Porsche's would have much trouble being parked considering the size of them. |

No they're oil dispensers to spray oil onto the road behind to stop those pesky Ferraris from keeping up...

looks good, but too similar to previous models. don't get me wrong, i've got huge respect for Porsche, and the fact that they are one of the only well known manufacturers that are still going it alone is proof that their doing something right, but i'd just like to see them push the design boundaries every once in a while.
still give my left kidney for one though. |

This is the reason Lexus will never be like BMW and Mercedes-Benz, despite how many gadgets and gizmos they fit to their cars, etc. The 997 Turbo? I love it!

My brother-in-laws best mate used to have a 996 911 turbo and he tells me that he's never driven anything that accelerates as fast as this thing. :
Anyway his mate then traded it on an SL55AMG and now he also has a Ferrari F430 Modena Spyder (nothing like trading up faster and faster, eh!!)

Cayenne is the only one of the above you listed that move away from the normal looks.
The Panamera is different, but still looks SO MUCH like every other porsche.. Cayman, Boxster, and 911 all look very similar. |

Carrera GT would be the pick of the bunch - unfortunately they are not making them RHD, so none will ever come to Australia.
I agree they are a timeless car and do look great, however having the near exact same shape for the last 5-8 years or more (I am guessing) I am at the point where every porshe I see is just another porshe, they are nothing special anymore. They still look to the untrained eye the same as they did years ago. Which means I do not get exited anymore. On Topgear the said there was next to no chance of telling the 04 and 05 models apart even though every panel on them had been changed. I would like to see them try a bit more, why cant we see a front engined porshe again? |

That looks ace, but I think I'd like that rear air intake to look a little more integrated. Perhaps its just the bright colour, but it stands out a little too much for my liking.
It's still sweeeet though. |
