I think I'd pass with no problems. I dont drive like a maniac and I indicate before I attempt to turn and I check my blind spots.. etc. etc. No, I dont drive like a grandma though. I'm just careful.... unlike the dude driving the Commamodore and turned right from the left lane of a 2-laned left turn zone two days ago.

I reckon I could scrape through. I've got my fair share of bad habits, but I can knock them off when needed. I know I should knock them off all the time, but yeah. It's just things like one hand on the wheel, palming the wheel when turning, speeding, etc. I still check mirrors and blind spots and all that.

I reckon I'd go alright on the driving test and the written test but the I'd fail the computer simulation. I barely passed it when I got my licence and now there is more emphasis and you need a better score to pass the test.

I was the very last person from my home town In VIC to do the last written test, the driven assesment was taken In a toyota tarago because I couldnt fit In the little 4 banger they were using.
If you have seen Police Academy where Hightop rips out the front seat of the mini to drive from the back seat, I'm sure you get the picture. The thought of the computer test was a little daunting to say the least, however I think a pass Is possible. |

It was 1986 i did my (16 years old @ the time) id like to think i would pass but you never NO. If u are driving with a stubby & dont spill it is that a good thing. Only jokeing i think 1hand on the wheel & goig over 60 km say 65 in 60 zone would not help.

little things i'd forget would probably make it a no... that and i'm used to heel-toe downshifts almost all the time now thanks to my clutch and driving style (makes it a lot smoother)

I don't think they'd like me driving with one hand sitting on the bottom of the steering wheel, and the other one on the centre console.

My only concern would be the stimulator, the driving and written test would still be easy..... except I wouldn't do it in the XC as it is pure fluke to manage a 3 point turn or reverse park in it :P

Ive had mine for a year and a half, and in that time I have become really sloppy. For example, who here actually always drive at 10 and 2? Two hands on the steering wheel at all times, seat in correct position, make sure the electrics and everything works before you take off, check the tyres every time, not speed, indicate, pass on the inside, etc. Id like to say I do everything perfect, but I just dont.

yep sure would pass, just done a 3b license.
You can go in the RTA website for us in NSW and do a virtual test as many times as you like. I'm sure all states have similar.

I just dont know what the instuctor would think about me having left arm resting on the console.... smoke in the right hand (bring left hand up to hold steering wheel when you take a drag).... Playing air guitar at traffic lights or miming drum solos on the steering wheel... probably all frowned upon...

Haven't failed a driving test yet. (I'm on Green P's). Thing that would get me would be one hand driving. Could pass the driving test but now you have to do statistics questions for the second half of the exam (in NSW going for full licence). That would fail me. Not the driving.

Pretty much my sentiments too- I do about 5000kms average a month which is a reasonable time on the road and havent lost a point or been stopped yet........(awaits in fear of immediate constable-based reprisal!) I do sometimes break the speed limit on open roads but I'm the irritating bastard who actually adheres to the 40kmh school zone rule- and I love it. I'm pretty confident that I'd pass the practical fine but might lose a piont or two on the theory questions!
