When you look at these GT’s and the era they come from FTE/Tickford did an outstanding job at the time, taking nothing away from the modern FPV’s such as BA/F’s and onward’s but they just lack something that the EL’s have IMO.

I agree, yes the didn't have a lot of power, but for the time they were competitive. Also when you look at how many parts were unique to the model and the level of visual change they achieved, it really makes the likes of the later GT's look under-cooked.

I think the EL GT was the best GT ever built to date. It was totally unique and rare like the old GT's which no later model GT has achieved and it had a lot more unique parts than the EB GT. while it was no rocket ship a set of alloy heads and a decent cam and exhaust ensured that low 13 second quarters where available while still keeping the original look.

Iv always Loved the look of the EL GTs. Would love to have one parked next to my GTF some day in the near future.

The EL GT is defiantly the greatest GT post the Phase 3...a tall call, but what it lacked in motorsport, it made up for elsewhere.
Think about it, no other GT had the amount of uniqueness inside, out and under that the EL had... And the best bit, you can't make a replica at all...
