What these stats tell me is that although the large car market is shrinking there is still a market for larger cars, people are still buying them in a reasonable quanity. So is Ford going to bring in the Taurus and Explorer to replace the Falcon and Territory?
I am one of those people that will not buy a small car as I'm to tall and anyone who has kids will know the amount of stuff you have to carry aint going to fit in most of the small cars. I have a Territory for my wife and kids of which we are very happy with and would only replace it with another one. I have a Falcon because I love Ford but also the amount of room in them. I am not now or ever will be in the market for a small car or SUV. So I hope Ford realise that there are some people out there that want the bigger cars.

In terms of a large, three box sedan (post Falcon) it's Mondeo or bust (as far as Ford's are concerned)

But Territory is the one that is still selling ok. They will flog it hard in an effort to get those 30k cars. Falcon will continue to drop no doubt, but they will have to go to great lengths to keep the drop to a minimum, then build/register a lot of 201X Falcons to get the numbers up enough.

They will probably have to register a lot of them that haven't sold to get those 30k though, but what other choice do they have, they won't let that 30k figure fail cause it will kill them on the spot.

I guess they will factor in what it will cost them to sell at a loss Vs what it will cost if they lose government funding. I think the government funding also includes tax credits on imports? So it will cost them even on imported models?
