Well there you go, I like to think Ive got a pretty broad knowledge base of Ford stuff but I havent heard of that one before, thanks!
I dont think its anywhere near as cool as say a Dodge Charger Daytona/Plymouth Superbird but it has its own coolness. Such a cool era, I mean how is putting the Road Runner on a car not awesome?

Never heard of a Tarino before lol.
That long front end doesn't look too bad on a Torino. Looks better than the extended front on the Plymouth Roadrunner Superbird. |

I was going to question how a car can look so good with 43 thousand miles clocked up, then I saw the undercarriage. It's been abused at some point in it's life. Dents in the floor pan, gouges in the radiator crossmember & chassis rails, looks like either the bell housing or the gearbox casing has been touched up with paint too. What's the point in buying such a rare car if it's not in mint condition. I also have to question why it's listed as one of just a few prototypes, clearly there were a fair few built as the dealer's photo's clearly show more cars of different colours, orange, yellow & white. I think the dealer is playing it up a bit by the wording of the add, "one of two Bud Moore owned"...so there are more but these two are owned by Bud. $600K is a joke. I'd rather by a stock XY, do it up like a GTHO for 20 or 30K and buy a really nice house in which to keep it garaged!

So, about as rare as a Phase IV, but is a factory hi po big block coupe and it's worth just 600k. Wow!

Instead of that King Cobra going into production, the Yanks made this one.

Mercury also had their own version called the Cyclone Super Spoiler, but it wasn't based on the Fast Back.

They did a long nose version of the Cyclone like the Torino. Do a Google Search on it and you should find a good article on them both in the Magazine Hemmings Muscle Machines.

RK Motors concentrates on high-end stock. Not surprising to see that car there, but only an avid fan of Bud Moore and/or prototypes would pay anywhere near that kind of money. However, having said that, a couple of years ago the original Shelby Mustang mule surfaced and sold for USD$800k plus at auction.

Also the XA sedan taillights were very similar to the 1970> Mercury Cyclone's.
