If you don't get in early, around the corner over the fence and in the next suburb.

The facility has plenty of parking but the biggest car park stops accepting cars after 7am due to it being inside the track and you cant get out until around 5.30 - 6.00?? So that screws most people up
I don't believe there is any free parking at the event unless you want to hike for a couple of km's. Also all the surrounding streets are all event parking meaning that its either no parking or 1 or 2 hour parking. So other than getting there at a reasonable hour there isn't really any other option besides public transport Also when i go i prefer to park in at the aquatic center as its the quickest to get out of and fairly close to the track |

You'd probably have to reserve parking there if you wanted to (unless they changed that policy). Train would be the best bet.

Near the closest train station to your house, then jump on a train. It's the quickest, easiest thing to do.

Im coming from Brisbane so thats the issue...
I kind of need a car to cart my gear around in particular on sunday while im at the race as I cannot leave it at the hotel... Getting parking looks like it is going to be a nightmare.

As he said, but I wouldn't leave your GT at any train station in Sydney if thats the car you're bringing down.

Parking was pre-booked as far as I can tell by the signs with it written on it around Ryde. You're better off catching the train over there

Surely there must be a forum member that lives near the track and can look after you.

parking around the surrounding area is booked parking only. Once you book, you are guaranteed a spot within reasonable walking distance to the track. i went when it first came to homebush and it was a fantastic experience. I was sitting in the grandstand on the back straight, i think just after turn 8? I was considering going this year, but wasnt really keen on paying to watch two holdens fight for the championship.

Use the Major event buses! I park in Dundas at one of the first stops on the Dural route. This stop is only about 5 kms from Homebush.

I highly recommend against driving there as it's an absolute sh1tfight, the car parks in particular. Leave yourself 60-90 minutes to get out of the car parks.
Train truly is the best way but if you must drive, I always park on the Corner of Bachell Ave & Parramatta road in lidcombe (across the st from the Shell), and walk 10 min up the hill to Olympic Park.

When I worked the first event we got parking passes, but as someone else said we had to be in by 7am, and couldn't leave until after 6pm as we couldn't enter a hot track between those times.

as someone has already said, getting to and from the event by car is a major PIA due to the traffic. where is your hotel? im in burwood, thats only a few train stops away from homebush so if you decide to train it your more than welcome to park the car here (im only 3-5 minutes walk from the station) ill pm you my mobile number as ill be working all weekend but if you call or sms me ill send you my address. only condition is that if its a rental commodore you park it out on the street any of the blue ovals are welcome to park in the driveway lets hope CL has a good showing and comes home with the championship! im another long time fan of his regadless of what he drives. |
