i think there is one in seaford, and one in moorabbin, i think they supply workshop and hoist and you supply your own tools, but dont quote me on this

Sounds like a OHS nightmare to me.
We can not even have someone that is not a worker in the workshop fullstop... Work cover would give you a big fine trying to do something like that. |

I have not seen this type of thing lately.
Snap On has a sticker that says "I make my living using my Snap On tools, please do not ask to borrow them".

I remember years ago (late 80s) TAFE used to offer a basic car maintenance course where you could use all their facilities, after hours.
All my mates joined up for this reason even thought they were only there to rebuild engines etc. |

I didn't even think of tafe. We had the same thing in WA. Used to run one night a week for about 4 hours. Will have to check it out

the must be a way around the OH&S issues here is one in Dubbo http://www.diyauto.com.au/services/ and AFAIK the is one in alexandria Sydney called U doit ( I'm not 100% sure they are still going i used them years ago)

heh, this is a pretty good idea. i know you can hire out your own spray booths, but i didn't know about hoist & workshop. if anyone knows of one in bris, let us know!
