Default Can engine from track only import be used in road car

Hey guys,

Its not ford related but thought there would be a few guys here that would know the answer.

I've come across a R32 GTR that was imported for track use only, not able to be road registered. The question is can I register the track car's engine in a road registered R32?

Yes if its a GTR- providing whoever is doing the Road worthy inspection beleives it is stock.
If it is going into a GT - T or GT - S you are over the 15% allowable increase without engineering. (That might be a NSW thing thought...) so that technically needs engineering, unless you can convince the mechanic that the RB26DETT into a GT - S /GT - R is the same as a V8 into a 6 cyl car where the factory made the car with that engine as an option - I would try that one on first.

Given you are in QLD you would only need it mod plated anyway. If they believe the car is stock it will breeze through as the R32 GTR is complied for use on Australian Roads.

The only problem I see is import duties.
I know these would have to be paid for any imported car to be used on the roads, but track cars are exempt,if they have the numbers listed you may be asked the question.
