Winding up issue on acceleration

Hey guys, having a issue with a whinding up noise when accelerating, sounds like a jet engine, and dosnt sound metal.. and the slows do as car comes to a stop. i have read stuff on how the bearing in the A/C pulley can do this. Anyone one else had this issue? cheers

Brand new stater motor and serp belt on, no leaks from power steering, and no engine light but annoying as hell.

Might help if you mention what car you have.

It's probably a noisy pulley.

You sure it's from the engine and not a wheel bearing or diff whine?

Turn off the AC and see if it changes.

if its auto the old 4sp boxes love to whine.
go for a ride in an old BF wagon taxi and they sound like a jet engine taking off just without the thrust

How loud is the whine and did it only start after the new belt was put on?
When I put a Goodyear Gatorback belt on I mistook the sound from that belt design as alternator whine.

Give it a rev in neutral, does it whine then?
Get the car up to whining speed then stick it in neutral, does it still whine then?
As asked earlier, Auto or Manual?

I had i similar problem years ago, i would speed up and the whine got louder, changing up gears it would drop of then rise again, slowing down the whine got quieter until at idle you could barely hear it.....

.....when i turned the radio of it went away completely
