I was thinking about trading my FG 2011 FPV GT in on a new 2018 Mustang GT 5.0 Ltr but have the following reservations, a) no spare wheel/tyre is supplied on the Mustang, b) only a 3 star safety rating whereas mine has 5 stars, c) no options yet for a Supercharged V8 motor. And even though my vehicle is in showroom condition I can imagine getting offered a lowball trade-in figure. Should I wait for the 2019 models before deciding or just keep what I have?

b) Different rating systems used - You cannot compare the two. c) Herrod have a supercharger package. 2019 model... Only if you want to pay more than the 2018. |

I have heard there will be a "Bullit" styled fastback GT coming in 2019.

My FPV GT is a 6 speed manual and I think I'd prefer the manual in a mustang as well. If I can't get $32,000 to $35,000 as a trade-in I'll end up keeping mine.

Probably be better off selling it privately then.

If you think about trading it let me know via pm as may be chasing a manual 335 GT in the next 6-12 months.

The manual in the Mustang isn't a great gear box, the 2018 model manual is also under going TCB for those with 3rd gear issues.
Test drive the new 10 speed auto with paddle shifts its very quick..

Hi eaglem, I'll go against the grain here and say keep the GT. The 335 is a wonderful piece of kit and I reckon if you do part with it, you will eventually regret selling it.
Easy for me to say as I'm not sure of your position, but I would get the Mustang as an addition to, not a replacement of, for the 335! I,m lucky enough to have both and while I don't drive the 335 all that often, you sometimes forget how bloody good it is! Those last GT's will imho be recognised in years to come similar to how we worship an XY today.. I say keep it.....

I am having those thoughts to be honest as good GT 335's are becoming very hard to get selling mine to get a Mustang could end up being a huge regret and moreso if I find I'm not overly happy with the Mustang.

I would not be selling your FPV GT for a base GT Mustang if it was mine.

I wouldn't be after the base Mustang GT as being War Service TPI I won't pay GST or Stamp Duty on buying the new car which brings the price down a bit and would only need to add about $30,000 if I get $35,000 for my car which then allows me to add extras such as Magneride, a Spoiler and Striping plus Spare Wheel to the car. But at this stage I'm still researching and deciding.

I believe the 3 star rating is only because of the safety of back seat passengers.
So as long as you only have a front seat passenger, all is good.

Can't think of a nicer way to say it.
Your on crack if you want to get rid of that Falcon for a Mustang. |

I'd keep it. The FPV GT is more special and will go up in value. Low km second hand manual GT Mustangs can be picked up for mid 40's.

Personally, I’d take the car you want more right now. Not the one which will be worth more in 20 years.
