Took this picture at Clarendon truck show on the weekend. A credit to the owners recent restoration and such a rare beast here in Australia.
A great example of a early 70's W series cabover.

Now, now, remember I own a Louisville ! But mines excuse is its 40 years old and not suppose to drive straight.
At Clarendon, I counted 2 LN's there but I don't recall any LTL's must have all rusted away.

Love the 903's (not many did) I have a VT903 in a K125, tough engine but damn those leaky liners.

My dad used to have an old Ford D-series truck. There used to be a lot around but not anymore. They look pretty nice when done up.

On the Louisville subject.
I'm looking for a Chrome Platers here while I'm in Sydney anyone recommend a good one, need to have the door scuff plates done.

Its strange that this W1000 model used to run Detroits which is a GM product.
Why would Ford put the oppositions engines into their own product. |

Over 40 years of trucking but I havent seen a Ford like that to my eye it has an old White cabin You would know them as Western Stars these days
now the D series were good with the slant six Ford diesel or the 185 V8 Cummins I drove one in the seventies it had a 10 speed road ranger Ive also driven an F7000 like an overgrown F100 with a 160 Cummins and a 13 speed road ranger just some old memories |

Kenworth fit MX diesels as well, a PACCAR product (Pacific Car foundry) , who own Kenworth DAF and Peterbilt.
Every Pete and Kenworth ever made is custombuilt to the customers specs. When you buy parts from Kenworth here, you give them your chassis number and they can tell you every part which was used from new. My old K125 still has original specs from the factory. Every parts catalogue / workshop manual is produced for a specific truck.

I think it probably comes back to money , they have to try and keep up with emission regs , its probably easier and cheaper to let the established engine makers have the headaches .

I had a great score at the truckshow last weekend in the swapmeet section. Kenworth Dealer only, Master parts Manuals all 5 complete volumes.

Rev the rings out of it and by the time I find a gear, I got no revs left. ! no problem with the Cummins.
