Hey guys and girls just looking for people's honest opinion... We may be looking at selling my wife's 2008 turbo territory and have no real idea on what to ask for it.... It's done 226,000ks has just had $3000 spent on rear suspension diff bushes front diff bushes new wheels and tyres it has 7 seats and other then the exhaust de-bung its stock... The only real fault I can pick is the ignition barrel has lost its spring back so after started you have to turn the key back a notch... So if I could get people's feed back that would be great

Best place to look is carsales.com, gumtree, in this sites for sale section (search "Territory" in the "cars for sale" section), and even ebay. Have a look, get a read on what the cars that are in a similar condition, so paint (dings, scratches, chips), interior (rips, wear, sagging), accessories, (DVD players, ugly mag wheels, good mag wheels,) and km's and price it under them by a small amount. Also, I hate to be rude, but that 3k you just blew on bushes, you can kiss goodbye. You don't get your money back from what you put in. You can argue "I've just saved you 3 grand in bushes" till your blue in the face, but a car is never worth more than the sum of its parts. Sad but true.

If your looking to sell, it (which I assume your are) get the car professionally detailed, take good pictures, and write up a detailed sales blurb. Not long and convoluted, just detailed and simple.

Selling a car requires research. You need to do your home work before just banging up a price as what its worth to you.

And remember the golden rule:

"Its only worth what someone is willing to pay for it". - And that sometimes is a rude shock to people.

Another thing to note is that money spent on repairs or tyres doesn't add any value to the car, mainly because a buyer expects a car should have good bushes and tyres.
BUT having bald tyres and worn bushes (if the buyer notices) will decrease the value.

Any idea what it costs to fix the ignition barrel? Because having a potential buyer test drive your car and you have to tell them "just turn the key back after you crank it because the barrel is worn" could cost you more in lost sales and price negotiation than if you fix the problem first.

I'd put it up for $13k and expect to sell for $11-12k. There are a few on carsales around that price for less kms. Good luck

Loved mine, but out of 6 cars I've had was by far the hardest to sell. had half the Kay's yours has, good condition, and struggled to get 12k, 2.5 years ago. Although was only a 5 seater.

These cars are mainly targeted at car enthusiasts and you wont find a better bunch of enthusiasts in Sydney than at the All Ford Day

2008 with 26,000 k's $8000-$9000 that's all you'll get. $6000-$7000 trade-in.
