2017 Lincoln MKZ 400hp

"No one can accuse Lincoln of failing to keep to the MKZ modern after the latest, comprehensive upgrades for the refreshed 2017 model. The sedan goes on sale next spring and features significant changes to the design, powertrain, and available technology.

The designers give the luxury sedan's face an aesthetic overhaul with a mesh grille that's inspired by the Continental concept, and the company also offers LED adaptive headlights as a further improvement to the front end. That said, it looks a little derivative – many staffers are comparing it to similar Jaguar and Kia designs, not that that's a bad thing. Inside, the center console moves away from capacitive controls in favor of actual knobs and buttons.

Huge changes happen under the hood, too. The all-wheel-drive MKZ is available with 400 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque from a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6, and the mill is exclusive to Lincoln for now. The optional Driver's Package on these models should further improve the handling thanks to a torque-vectoring rear differential derived from the Ford Focus RS. The same V6 makes 350 hp in front-wheel drive trim, and customers can also order a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder or hybrid powertrain.

Lincoln has a load of safety and driver assistance tech for the MKZ, too. The adaptive cruise control system can deal with stop-and-go traffic and even hold the sedan in place without the driver using the brake pedal. dont know what spec it is , but seems pretty cheap for a luxo barge,
just looking at it , without trying to be nasty , it sort of fits in with the run of the mill family sedans these days looking at it from a distance, maybe the pics dont do it justice ?

$42K isn't cheap in America. But Lincoln has slid downmarket to take over Mercury's niche. It's not working very well so far. This is the best-looking Lincoln since the demise of Mercury, though.

That's a shame Moby, I'm probably still in the dark ages, when I hear the words Ford Lincoln, I think of big luxo cruiser from the past , these days there are a lot of cars
Similarly equipped, it must be hard to stand out from the crowd for Lincoln, especially when old farts like myself still think back in the old days. .

Lincoln doesn't want that buyer anymore. They want affluent young females (who will likely never buy Lincolns).

It's obvious that to be taken seriously as a luxury marque in the west Lincoln needs a RWD car, but Ford seems to care more about China.

I can see merit in that, but that strategy hasn't worked very well for Cadillac in the US.
CTS and ATS are excellent cars by all reports, but fail to lure buyers like BMW, Audi or Mercedes-Benz suggesting that success in the Luxury car segment centres around the badge attached to the grill and much less on the engineering prowess. After all, most Audi's are front wheel drive, even though they place a heavy marketing emphasis on Quattro AWD.

Its going to take decades for Lincoln to establish itself as a "must have" brand like the German rivals.

Cadillac hasn't taken the world by storm, but it's in much better shape than Lincoln. And Cadillac has been working on reviving itself for 15 years already.

I think this is a big step in the right direction for Lincoln. I never cared for the MKZ or any of the rebadged Fords with teethy grilles (even the horizontal ones). When Ford owned JLR, I said they should sell it and make those sporty luxury car as Lincolns to make it into a global brand. They didn't need the Jaguar brand to do that, and I thought the same with Land Rover. Ford needs to aim much higher than Cadillac to make Lincoln successful. I'm looking forward to see what's next for Lincoln.

Anyway rim choice is a matter of taste and taste varies greatly from person to person.

I can’t say I really like the ones on the Lincoln but they are no worse in my opinion then say something like these.

My reason I think have a similar styling (albeit distant) is the terrible multi spoke design. To me they look similar when on a vehicle.

As for my choice in wheel, I got them for free!!! They suit my ute and aren't for the masses like the lincoln. They're just for me. I'd be more than willing to have another set of 20s if you want to buy me a set.

I remember the Nissan Maxima had it over 20 years ago.
