Stubby rear and long front? Angles are not great but it looks a little generic?

oh damn I just went into nostelga mode... back in 70's living NZ I got my hands on a European version (compared to USA ) Fiat Spyder canary yellow, left hand drive. Fun lil car, attracted the girls, although freaked them out sitting in 'drivers' seat.
Was fantastic for NZ summers but best drive was through the south Island mountains, middle of winter, snow on the ground, middle of night, hood down, windows up and heater on. The exhaust noise through the mountains is ringing again. But with all the rage of bringing back older cars the only two really successful ones have been the Mustang and Fiat 500 Arabath.

Isn't this just a Mazda MX5? Might explain the genericness of the looks.

Are they going to have the same engines or will it have Fiat's own engines?

It reminds me of a smaller version of the BMW Z Series.

no doubt the little mazda coupes and the little fiat would be a bit of fun to punt around too, still not a fan of the goofy looking mazda front end. . |

Just joined the Fiat club last week and have several email from the group regarding this.
1.4 Turbo if I recall. Nice car for around $50K. If they made a new Coupe I would be all over one to park next to the old one I have

I'm probably the only one who skimmed over the images and got a crush on the beautiful waitress who was smiling at the camera...

Looks as though FIAT will rebadge or re-engineer anything these days. At least with Mazda mechanicals it won't be Fix It Again, Tony.
