Default New TV Commercials from Ford

Seen some new commercials from Ford today, so I went to their website.

Seems there are 3 new ones, Fiesta, Focus & Terrirtory

I just saw the Fiesta and Focus ones, the guy with the crying baby in the back and the girl driving her Fiesta calling home.

There's a new FPV ad for the R-Spec as well. Good to hear they used actual Miami engine sounds.

They were running that $1000 cash back offer last month? It ran very frequently, however not once did it show a Falcon in the montage of cars in the add.

Nice to see nothing has changed in the marketing department. The ads are as mediocre as most of their previous efforts.

I think the ads work well, they nailed the target buyers perfectly. Hopefully a Falcon and Falcon ute one will pop up soon.

Indeed, all part of the master plan to kill it off.

Falcon adverts. finished with the XA......WTF??

Its a pity that FoA have given up on the Falcon already, least they are flying the flag for its other products, Ranger gets heaps of air-time.

Yes. We noticed as well that there was not a single Ford ad during Bathurst. Holden had the Lion's share, but we certainly also saw Toyota, Jeep and Chrysler ads.

Clearly having advertising doesn't make that much difference because Holden's sales have plummeted this year, nobody wants their bogan barges either. The difference in numbers between Falcon and Commodore hasn't changed much but the overall numbers are down.

But the "You're one of us" adverts do what an ad should...they draw you in, they make you feel like you're part of something, that the big normally-faceless company sees you as an important part of their business, someone to be given a special deal, etc.

Ford must do this with the Falcon if their claims that it has a future are anything more than lip service. The damn thing has been out for over fifty years as a model...that's pretty special, yet all we got on our G6E was a little badge on the boot and one on each side at the front...oh, and a picnic hamper and keyring that turned up a while later in the mail out of the blue. They should have been shouting it from the rooftops. Now they should be running adverts thanking the motoring public for supporting it for over half a century.

People laughed at the Magna advert with that kid waiting in the driveway for dad to come home with the new car, but that twangs a deep psychological string with a lot of people, bringing up memories of when they did the same thing.

Get creative Ford, and remember there is a large family car in your line up that people still buy.

Agreed, I actually will go out on a limb and say these latest ads are the best car ads I have seen for years. Short, sharp and endearing. I also think the 15 sec works concept works really well in today's world where people are preferring quick attention-grabbing messages.

The quick 15 second emotional message would work well for the Falcon - have a Falcon parked at a rainy rugby match - full time siren blows, player after the match runs over to his XR6 in the muddy carpark - he takes off his shorts and top in the pouring rain so he doesnt get his car dirty.

Falcon ute - have a country bloke showing off all the pub stickers he has on the back window of his ute, jokes he spends more time with his ute than his misses.

How about one like the "best Ford advert in history" one from the USA with the returning soldier reminiscing with his father inside the dads beautiful old Mustang, then throwing the kid the keys and when the kid says "you're finally letting me drive it", he replies, "not mine...yours", and opens the garage to show a brand new red Mustang.

No reason you couldn't do the exact same advert with an Australian returning soldier and his father's XYGT, then opening the garage to reveal a new GT Falcon...although given the price difference between what the Yanks pay for a Mustang and what we pay for a GT Falcon, I admit it would be a bit of a stretch that ad would have just nipped out and bought the son one...

Or work something else showing the link between the fifty years of Falcon...a nice homely family small acreage with a scenic setting, elderly grandma and grandpa coming for a visit driving an old immaculate XK they've had since new, then mum and dad turn up in, say, an as-new XC wagon, the current family are shown standing beside something like one of the first XR6's, and then their kids turn up in a brand new Falcon Ecoboost. Call it "family reunion" or something along those lines..

im one who freely agrees about lake of FALCON advertising..but as for threst including the latest tv commercials...i like them and they seemed good in our household...but maybe theyre thinking a little two hard about maximizing there adds in short cheap adds..because if you noticed they were also short adds. But still good overall i reckon

I'm surprised they aren't using the global message or the slogan used in the US.

Ford_the_win has a good point, why waste precious funds right now on ads when the balance with the Commodore is still there.

I'm still a firm believer in Ford, the Falcon and the survival of the large Aussie RWD vehicle.
Mark my words, it will come back around again.
Be positive.

I remember a VERY extensive campaign including pre release teaser ads when the BA was released .

If they cut it down to 30sec only using the key points focusing on its heritage and uniqueness, it would make a great ad.

Seen a few Ranger ones recently, touting it as a truck like how Holden advertise the Colorado.
