Yes because that's the right thing to do isn't it... Make idiots of yourself in a public place on public roads over a private event closure... :

I think you will find the promoter cancelled the event , NOT Bob Jane.
You got any substance behind your comment, or just guessing????

From the Calder website:

Quote:
Calder Park would like all parties concerned to be absolutely clear as to the cancellation of the Easternats scheduled to be held at Calder Park from April 3-5, 2010, and therefore present the following facts.

Fact one

The Easternats under the direction of Jon Davison, the event Promoter, is responsible for the cancellation of the event.

Fact two

Calder Park, the venue owner, was only notified at 5:57pm on Monday evening (March 15) via Email of the event cancellation.

Fact three

Calder Park considers the cancellation of the event to be premature.

Calder Park management is willing to proceed with the event should certain contractual agreements be met.

Fact four

Calder Park is generally apologetic to any persons that have entered or who were looking forward to this coming event.

Calder Park is concerned that the blame for the cancellation has been directed at Calder Park and Bob Jane.

The Easternats cancellation is the direct responsibility of Jon Davison and the Easternats Management and their unwillingness to proceed with the event.

All complaints should be directed to Jon Davison, the Easternats Promoter and Manager.

Ian MacArthur,
General Manager,
Calder Park

bob jane and jon davison hate eachothers guts but they got together this year to do this event cause of the 1500 names they got down at a big meeting last year to save easternats jon davison was waiting on bob jane to confirm the use of calder park for this year and now bob has pulled out 3 weeks before the event leaving no place to hold it

this friday night apparently its on... that the word on the street.

i think if numbers were down this year is because they have moved the event from sandown over to calder. there was a big protest regarding this in the beginning however the went ahead and moved the event.

we will see what happens this weekend, no doubt cops will be out in force and it will be a televised event this friday night... LOL

Protesting on the streets is not going to help anyone.

Doesn't matter whether it's Jon's or Bob's fault. Neither of them will be directly affected by a public protest, where there will no doubt be idiots behaving like even bigger idiots.

Yep, that's the image we (the ones with any real interest in entering these events) want on the news.

Let me guess what cars will be in this 'protest'... stock Commodores and Falcons...

The same ones that turned the Easternats from an event I had to enter to an event I refused to enter? Only fitting they 'd completely ruin even the memory of the event, but for me it died a long time ago when entry standards were put to the side to try and make a quick buck.

Good old Calder Park where all the units cry and whinge that it's too far and too expensive to run down the 1/4 mile

The same cry babies that whinged about the entrant costs to Easternats at Sandown last year

And the same units who think it's cool to hoon around princess highway as it's free.......

Yeah let's protest on Princess Highway, I am sure ACA & TT will be down to put it on prime time tv

I hope the coppers are out in force and stop any rubbish before it happens or the media get any footage. An organised protest where no doubt hooning, burnouts, drags etc will occur on public streets will just about end any chance of getting the govt to chip in for a new drag and motor racing facility to Victoria.

Motorvate Melbourne are doing such a good job of going about it the correct way, it would be a shame to go back 10 steps again

Spot on..

Everything is too far or to expensive or there's too many rules for these people...

This kind of stupidity is absolutely the last thing we need.
The media and anti car groups will have an absolute field day at our expense...
Just another nail in the coffin for REAL car enthusiasts due to the selfish acts of idiots.

Fish have brains and apples dont?

I thought there was more than enough modded car shows during the year. Crap happens.

want to protest? thats fine do so and don't break any laws wouldn't hurt to have a gathering of cars legally in a carpark somewhere with no shenanigans and if joe public wants to see what the cars can do - they can't because of the cancellation of the easternats. Hopefully joe public will start making noise and it will benefit enthusiasts. Best tell my father its been canned.

and mythbusters proved to shoot fish in a barrell you dont need to hit them the water shock kills the fish - shot or not :
