Default SO... What other forms of Motorsport should I enjoy now that I hate V8 Supercars?

Any hints, hill climbs? sprint cars?

Since the Ford / 888 thing, i have truly lost passion for the sport.

Cant believe it....

So what should I follow now?

Start your own. Call it V8 Superfords. Keep it real tho, only road legal cars are allowed to race.

I'm happy to help kick it off if you like, I've got a V8 Superford.

One HD shows everything from F1 to Nascar - DTM to Drifting. I stopped watching V8SC ages ago i just got bored of it. DTMGerman touring cars) cars look unreal with the aero packages they run. Also the FIA GT and Le Mans series is also worth a look(Cars look **g cool too) .

“Actually it was just call “Gull”, because I named it that. Because we knew it was going to poo on everything”.

Mark Webber is 2nd in f1 world championship, and has had 5 podiums this year and one win, and now Mr Schumi (aka TGF) is coming back. Never a better time to get into it.

I also love Le mans type cars Gt2 and Gt3, and locally improved production (Yes it does exist!) and sedan racing.

I lost interest in v8 SC a year or so back. I used to never miss a race since i was a kid in the 70s and maeka big deal out of bathurst, either go out or hold BBQs etc.

This year I have watched about half of one race so far, and will nly watch bathurst if im not busy and the weather is too crap to go outside.

The funny thing is when Channel 10 had both the AFL and V8SC, they never had a problem televising both, with Sundays usually being dedicated to the V8s.

Hahaha technically a sports sedan, those things are awesome. Few new cars are going to start popping up to.

Yep great series, they're already headed down the technology route, they are close to sports sedans now, and the level of car prep is heading to V8SC territory now too...

Alot of them are running nascar engines, but the homologation hand might come out and slap them very soon!!

In the latest rae mag their is a little article on a cosworth escort. Very impressive, they are more like a 70s sports sedan, pre spaceframe.

Effectively yes, they're running close to an 80's spec nascar engine.
The rules have been getting looser and looser by the day...

Maybe start a new race series inviting after-hour teams from all car manfacturers who sell cars here. Eights, sixes, fives, turbos, etc. Race line ups are determined by power to weight ratios and it could go on while V8SC is not running.

(I know that handling comparison will be unfair on smaller vs. large cars, but it's more fun that way.)

Here's another idea for a future motor sport:

Forum Races!

Each member of all the major Australian internet car forums can donate $5 to admin of their board to fund the purchase and build up of a race-prepped car and a driver nominated to drive it.

Each car will only be as good as the group effort makes it.

I'd love to see that happening.
