Default Good Insurance Mobs?

Having recently changed my address, my insurance policy has gone up by over $800!
Now paying more than $2.5k/year to insure a Falcon which is probably only worth 6k!

BLAH!

This is currently with ING, now looking to switch.

Any ideas?

Go and see an insurance broker, they will shop around for you and charge very little if any thing at all. Otherwise shop around yourself. What is good, cheap insurance for someone else may not work out the same for you. There are way too many variants that the insurance company looks at when assessing your premium. (ie age, current rating, area you reside in, type of car) Other than that, CGU has been fairly good for me previously, although not insured with them currently as they have changed their policies in regards to any additions to the car. (not even performance modification) They would not insure a 1992 Fairlane with non standard sound system, spot lights and different wheels. But they do offer monthly repayments at no extra cost. Good luck.

Spend an hour on the net going to all the different companies doing online quotes, it's the only way.
I have found that AAMI and NRMA are the better (read: cheaper) ones.

i have my 98 el with shannons agreed value of $9000

and my premium is around $600 ( under that ) a yr with an excess of $400

and i live in a not to liked area of geelong for insurance

so not to bad for a 98 el i say

i would give shannons a call mate they are pretty good for me i have had to make a couple of claims ( not my fault ) and they couldnt have been better

i even had an issue with a wheel 18 months later ( from a side swipe i copped on the el ) and they asked me to get it looked at

when i didnt call them back with the out come they rang me to see what was going on

now that is customer service in my books

DAMN : . They are going to slug us all, between the Floods (act of god) and FIRES ( act of nature) they are going to slug each of us more(and probably not cough up on half the claims) just to keep their massive proffit margins :jab: :

I have 03 BA XR8 ute insurance, $1000
2000 AU Xls ute, insurance $540
2001 AU Fairmont, insurence $630

All owned outright, on LPG, in Geelong, two are garaged, and Im 38 and single! :newangel:

SO i can only drive one of the damn things at a time : why should I have to fork out that much hard earned, with massive excesses? :

Have heard of this pay for what you drive/Klm you travel insurance, and will be looking into it very soon, should put a smile :voldar02: on my face and my current Insurer can go get : : :thebirds:

Time some of these companies took a look in the mirror :lookedat: and realised MASSIVE PROFITS in times like now does NOT keep customers :

Start to look after your customers and NOT the Directors and shareholders POCKETS :

WE can and will leave them, bring back the 70s :disco: and the REAL customer service we used to get from real companies, family owned companies, NOT American owned ones! :

Happy driving :eclipsee_

Happened about 8 months ago I wrote off a car and brought a 92 Fairlnae Ghia to replace it. V8,spotlights,nudge bar, Mag, lowered, towbar and non standard sound system. All the additions are legal, but according to the person on the phone from CGU there where too many extras. This may have only been because it was a new policy, but because of it they lost 3, because I did not want to have my other cars insured with them and this one not. I have had insurance with CGU for about 10 years, and have not had any problems but was not prepared to have my insurances all over the place. I assume that it will not affect a current policy but look out if you want to change cars.
