Question Rechroming,how much does it cost?

I was wanting to get my old boot lock rechromed on my 67 xr and was wanting to know how much it might cost.I hope to do other parts eventually providing it does'nt cost to much,any help would be much appreciated.

A lot of the finishing places have minimum charges of around $70-100, so you can't just pop into your local chrome plater and get it done on the cheap. You would need to find probably a specialist chrome plater who does small things for the automotive industry; some of the plastic chroming places may be able to help as they are set up for very small runs and ergo much less of a cost.

Thanks for the help and advice.has anybody had particular parts chromed and if so what did it cost?

any good rechromers that can be recommended in sydney?

arent they stainless steel ?. if so a damn good polish on a buffing wheel should do it !

doin a chrome plating apprenticeship as we speak, in hard chrome not decorative that u will need but from what i understand u should be able to get them rechromed for around $50-60 but a high quality job will be round $100, but as mick said if there stainless it should be just a quick polish
