Hi all,
I can get my hands on an AU XR8 for free that has been burnt to the ground, im just wondering what parts would be alright to salvage from it, that the intense heat wouldn't have hurt. Otherwise she's off to the tip. Thanks in advance, Jas. |

It has no paint or plastic anywhere, only the metal parts remain. At a guess i would think the engine block , intake manifold and transmission housing may be ok. All the oil would have been scorched though. Will have to have another look.

Only the block I imagine, and even that would be remote.
Everything that wouldnt be cast iron would be warped or melted beyond repair.

On closer inspection with some light its actually a ba xr8. The front of the heads have melted off so theres my answer.
I saw a car catch fire once. It was doing a big burnout and the transmission pipe split & spewed oil all over the hot extractors, which in turn burnt the starter motor wiring, they turned it off but it short circuited and kept winding over, pumping out more oil. Lucky someone had a fire extinguisher. SCARY!!! Scrappys it is then. |
