Recalls are a part of life.... nothing is ever going to be perfect. My Inlaws LG Plasma TV has even been recalled due to a glitch.

Yeah recalls are just apart of life, as someone already said.

Not good at all. That's alot of cars to be recalled.

I don't think the effect will exactly explode if FoA's face.
A lot of buyers will not even hear of this. Some people just go, "I want a car...that will do." Explains Holden Epica and Viva sales.

Nah they are more sophisticated than that.

It's more like "I want something true blue aussie cos I care about Australia and Australian jobs, hmmm Holden Epica, Holden=Australian sounds like a deal"

A funny observation.

When Holden had their first recall of the VE Commodore, every post was a joke.

But now Ford have a recall, it all like " Oh, thats not good at all."

Mistakes are fine as long as other people make em!

It isnt good news and sure they are a fact of life but surely they woulda picked it up earlier.

Some of the cars there would are 14 years old! Surely they arent all of a sudden having problems. Maybe they held it off as long as possible until they had to do it, at the risk of being sued.

Cerberus, however, has agreed to take on most of the auto company's approximately $US18 billion ($A21 billion) in long-term retiree health care costs.
Like Chryslers take over by Cerberus from Daimler one of Ford biggest costs is its employees health care costs. This recall is the last thing they really need to start making profits.

I've owned LG products too and nothing has ever broken? I don't consider them the bees knees but a fridge is a fridge to me.

Id call that a pretty cheap repair for a screen and labour...

As for the the Plasmas its not a recall it a service upgrade on the DVB tuners on certain models. And they come to your home to fix them!

At least they admit there is a problem with there product, unlike certain other brands that will remain nameless.

Far from Daewoo i would say, definitely not the best on the market but far from the worst, and also make a lot of components that are in your big dollar name brands....
