I will use it as a rinse aid on customer cars that don't already have some sort of protection on it. This makes drying easier, boosts gloss and adds something to the paint quickly and easily. Overall, like similar spray and rinse products, Wet Coat is a brilliant product. Don't expect longevity, but the application is so simple and quick that it doesn't really matter. I also like to avoid direct application on glass as it can leave a streaky finish.

How do you normally prep a car with a paint sealant or wax on there in order to try a new wax or sealant? I've been using a strip wash like NV Snow plus and then some Carpro Eraser prior to applying the new product. Just not sure if that's what other people do. |

Latest delivery from Detailing Shed................
The biggest compliment I can give to a detailing company is if I buy a product more than once, in this case Gyeon Q2 Quick View, which is a fantastic glass coating that is so simple to apply. Gyeon suggest 6-month longevity, which is easily achievable on a garage queen, in fact I have seen 12+ months. On a daily driver, parked outdoors and heavy use of the wipers, expect 2 months tops. But application is so simple, the reapplication is not a problem. https://detailingshed.com.au/product...fbb3abbf&_ss=r NV used to sell a very similar product called Glass Lite, however that disappeared pretty quickly. I think they had a lot of issues with the spray heads, I went through three myself. Gyeon get around that with the integrated felt applicator. My rinse-less wash quest continues, this time the OptiCoat version of ONR. Compared to the blue ONR, the yellow version offers more slickness and gloss due to its Si02 content, similar in concept to Carpro Ech20. https://detailingshed.com.au/product...no-rinse-473ml Geist is the newest leather care brand on the Australian market. After chatting with Nick, he speaks very highly of the brands leather conditioner. Compared to some leather products, the Geist Leather Conditioner can permeate through the top synthetic coating applied to most automotive leather. It produces a matte finish and does not contain additional scents. Very keen to try this product. https://detailingshed.com.au/collections/geist-uk https://detailingshed.com.au/product...ioner-500-ml-1 The rest of the order included a selection of prep sprays which I plan on doing a comparison with. I have been using Carpro Eraser for years, and Gyeon Prep recently. I also have a bottle of NV Clarify that gets rare usage. Joining these three are P&S Paint Coating Surface Prep, Koch Chemie Pps and Gtechniq Panel Wipe. I may also get a bottle of Bowden's Flash Prep to try as well. https://detailingshed.com.au/product...dba33e1b&_ss=r https://detailingshed.com.au/product...dba33e1b&_ss=r https://detailingshed.com.au/product...dba33e1b&_ss=r Which one is best and what are the differences will be answered soon.

@DFB FGXR6 do you know what reasonably priced options are around to use for deionised water? The water here in Perth is pretty hard so it's something I might look into.
https://detailcentral.com.au/deioniz...r-di-tank-tds/ Here is one that looks fairly cheap, but I also don't want to buy crap. |

The price of these systems is in the filter sub straight or resin. So prices will reflect the amount of resin the system will holed. The Detail Central ones start off very well priced, and work their way up depending on the filter size you choose. These are not mounted to anything, which I guess is keeping the price down too. You would then need something to mount it to, be that the wall or onto a cart. https://detailcentral.com.au/deioniz...r-di-tank-tds/ Detailing Shed have a plug and play system from $750 https://detailingshed.com.au/product...42757605097687 You can also go shopping at dedicated store - https://www.filtersystemsaustralia.c...izing%20System https://www.filtersystemsaustralia.c...r-filters.html These cheap filters are very limited in their use, and can't be connected toa pressure washer - https://www.ebay.com/itm/304239984332 I have also sent you a PM.

Testing 8 different prep sprays, confirming some old favorites and finding a couple of gems in the process.

Thanks. It's actually not something I've thought about. I don't really have space or a good location for a tank, but I'm sure it's a good option for those that do.

Rain water, while technically purified, can still leave water spots, especially if the car is dirty to begin with. That is dependent on location and other environmental factors (living near an airport, railway or by the ocean for instance). In some cases, the water can be acidic, which can also be problematic.

I have been using 303 protectant for many years now and are getting low.
Would it be worth trying the Gyeon Interior Detailer for a bit of change? This would be mainly for interior use.

303 Protectant is used purely for dressing and UV protection. Gyeon Interior Detailer is a mild cleaner with some very mild protection included. It's more of a quick detailer for interior surfaces, and due to the IPA element, it will dry streak free, including glossy trims and screens. The key thing with this product is that it will leave a completely matte, OE finish, so if you want to "see" a visible difference after use, this isn't the product for you. Gyeon Interior Detailer is an ok product, but I prefer Carpro InnerQD and Koch Chemie ASC in this role. https://detailingshed.com.au/product...8402d931&_ss=r https://www.waxit.com.au/products/ca...40057471336537 If you want an alternative to 303, Koch Chemie Top Star is very good option. https://detailingshed.com.au/product...653d8ca6&_ss=r

Thought I'd share a story. I'm sure most other home owners can relate...
Wanted to wash my car today. Been a while and finally getting some good weather again. But first, I had to mow the lawn. Went out to mow the lawn but then noticed the line of pine trees that run along my back fence could really do with some pruning as the lower branches now get in the way when mowing the back lawn. So, washing the car is now pushed to 3rd job for the day... Pruning the trees took a few hours and now to start on the lawn. Get the whipper snipper out. Last time I used it, it started getting hard to start. It seemed fuel related. Noticed a split line that connects to the primer button. Cut the end off, rejoin and away we go. 10mins in it dies. Fuel line has split again. Chop a bit more off but it's all perished and just keeps cracking. Oh well, park that and just mow. Great, mowing all done. It's now about 2pm. Oh, yeah, new parts (aerator) came for my foam cannon. Quickly pull that apart and install, and good to go. Get all the gear ready, park car on front lawn. Start foaming the wheels.... And the foam gun is leaking... Must've been in too much of a hurry. Pull it apart again, add more thread tape, check O rings, all good. Try again. (some might remember a few weeks ago my karcher and the foam gun both died on the same day. The karcher I fixed and now the foam gun is fixed) So try again and still the foam is rubbish. I guess the karcher must not be fully fixed either. So after starting the day wanting to just wash the car, it's now getting toward 4pm and I'm just starting, but no foam. Just the old fashioned bucket wash. Talk about frustrating. I got the car done but just one of those days where one thing leads to another and to do one job you suddenly have to do multiple other jobs first. The joys of home ownership etc. Always something needs doing.

Buried in the back of the Repco clearance section is 5 litres of their Eclipse Brand of Window Cleaner for $10.00. Seems to be stock around.
Repco don't seem to mark their clearance items on the shelf so they are often sitting there at the old price. Never used it or know anything about it but seems like a good deal if you can use that amount of cleaner. For me it would take me 10 years to use it all so I don't know if it is worth getting. I have posted somewhere on this thread how to search for clearance items on their site. Always some bargains and you can see if it is at your local stores ect.

8 years and I've used this much, toys, daily's and friends still got another 5 years at least. I came into the white stuff cause dopey drivers would use it to cover everything, pedal pads floor everything, so I banned its use along with any silicon products. The window cleaner came about with a 205 ltr order, with 100 odd bus and coaches in QLD it paid to buy in bulk, buy 205 get 20 free, so I reckon that meant I get it to take home ( gotta be some benefit to putting up with d**k heads everyday) Now while I'm here, what would everybody recommend that I do with this, I know I need to clean with Eraser or similar product to get the dirt out but what products to protect after I've cleaned them. This is on my new to me BT50. Terry aka Tbro |

Sadly, I have yet to see anything improve them. It's annoying because all have been treated with regular applications of trim dressings or Si02 spray sealants to "protect" them. Further applications do not improve the appearance once they have reached this stage. I have also attempted deep cleaning them with a plastic and vinyl cleaner, Megs M39, but it's not a surface type damage. I think the only thing left to try would be something like Solution Finish. That will also work on the rear bumper plastics as well. https://www.waxit.com.au/products/so...39247909355609 https://www.detailstore.com.au/produ...8b92cdcd&_ss=r

Two new P&S products to try..................
Both of these were unveiled at TRCMA a few weeks ago, and unlike new products from Carpro, these two have hit the Australian market quite promptly. Still on the way are the new fragrances, the Bead Maker inspired Mango Fresh and Absolute inspired Coconut Lime. Inspiration Defender is the brands first Si02 spray sealant/topper. Now, I can here you saying "what about Bead Maker". In a technical sense, Bead Maker is a paint sealant which contains a very small amount of Si02, but not in the way the Defender does, or other spray sealants like Carpro Reload, Koch Chemie S0.02 or Gyeon Cure. Like all of these products, Defender can be used on all paint, plastic trim, glass and rubber. Longevity is claimed at 6-months and https://detailingshed.com.au/product...io2-protectant https://autobuff.com.au/collections/...ant-473ml-16oz https://www.detailstore.com.au/colle...io2-protectant Swift is an interior quick detailer in the same vein as Carpro InnerQD or Meguiar's Quick Interior Detailer. In that, this product offers mild cleaning ability and mild UV protection, great for maintaining your interior rather than deep cleaning it like Express would. Compared to its competitors, Swift can also be agitated with a brush to boost the cleaning ability. Testing Swift on the kitchen bench this evening, I was instantly impressed, so I'm very keen to try this out further. https://detailingshed.com.au/product...ine-473ml-3-8l https://autobuff.com.au/collections/...ine-473ml-16oz https://www.detailstore.com.au/colle...ft-clean-shine Swift featured at about 12min 30 Inspiration featured at about 16min 50

Firstly give it a good clean, IPA or APC. For the interior plastic I like 303 Aerospace or Perl, both great products. For interior rubbers both will work, if they are a bit old I have been using the Gummi Pflege (look it up, amazing ****). For the outside plastics that are faded I have success with Solution Finish or Cerakote Trim wipes for the plastics and maybe the 303 as a topper. The Cerakote is amazing for black plastic, they quote 200 washes, it looks great. For the exterior rubbers i have struggled for years to get anything to keep them nice for more than a month. I use Solution finish if really bad then a sealant (Scholl W6 Black or last week I used some leftover Turtle Wax Flex Wax, Lustre or Bead Machine has worked before) came up great. I think I am a little overboard and these products are not cheap, 303 Interior Exterior would be great for everything.
