Both engines are tempting for me. I would have to take one for a spin to sell it but all the numbers look good. Good power, good torque and good price.

I think Nissan would have to be concerned about this. The 370Z is a good car but Aussies love Mustangs and having discounted a bit I don't know if they have anymore room to move on them.

Ford needed to change perception and gone is the tarted up bogan taxi cab and in comes the reasonably priced world car.

Well done Ford so far. If DJR Team Penske race this thing in the V8 series, give it a couple of years and it will be considered as Australian as Paul Hogan's nuts.

Times change and with a bit of luck this is the start of a change of perception of Ford AU.

There's no need to ashamed of the Falcon - if they made it in LHD it too could be a 'world car'.

Went with Old Boy yesterday to get info.

The thing is though the real lack of information the dealers have, I thought the car had been launched locally but the dealer had no brochures and knew no specs.

Im not blaming the dealer as they did the best they could with the info they had, the DP even went and printed off some emails from Ford to answer questions.

But surely Ford could of had posters and materials for a car that has been launched, it is hard to be sucked in emotionally when you are standing in a room next to a new Fiesta.

Just for info, he is after a orange V8 auto fastback with the over the top stripes. Got quoted 60k for the base V8 auto which was a fair price seeing it was a fairly informal talk.

It hasnt actually been released in Australia, not even launched? Just announced? I dont think there is even a launch date set?

Surely they will have a little function or PR thing?

Yeah Im confused as they were taking orders and obviously knew the pricing. If they had a brochure that he could see the details he probably would of put a deposit down on the spot.

The whole trip to the dealer came about as he swore he saw a new one a couple of days ago drive past. I assume a private import? Anyway I showed him a pic on my phone as we were leaving so he could get a better idea.

His last car he bought as he saw a new Ranger at the servo and liked the look and went ordered one that day. He is definitely a Ford man and not one to spend hours looking up things on the internet - which is where I will try to help with this one.

Also got quoted early 2016 delivery so must mean they are selling well!

^^^^ Thanks Anchor,

I'm already very happy with what I was aware of but if it comes equipped like you have just mentioned I'll be extremely happy!!!!

I'm sort of glad there'll be no spoiler but do you know if the V8 will come with bonnet vents?

The other thing I've seen discussed on the Mustang6g forum is that Australia might be getting cars from the MY16 production run which starts in August I think - any news on that?

Cheers!

Seems weird to have a DCB say this but the Ford spec sheet still has the spoiler, wonder how old the dcb he read from is, as gauge pack has been confirmed as not included on eu versions from many sources

You shouldn't be comparing Euro spec to ours. Our cars spec will not be identical to them.

Very true but the spoiler is on the FordAu website in the spec sheet

The brochure also says ...
"The Mustang consumer brochure contains images and specifications of the overseas Mustang model. Some specification differences between the Australian and overseas model may exist."

Also wouldn't want to miss out on running changes coming out in the MY16 model for the Aussie spec.

My view is we should all take a chill pill and wait until the Aussie spec is released and/or the cars are delivered, remembering it sure is a first world problem to actually own and enjoy a Mustang if all you have are minor complaints about what is or isn't in the Aussie spec... I'm going to enjoy mine when it arrives, just have the excruciating time delay between now and then.

Given that prices were only released on the 23rd March I would doubt that they would increase them 8 days later.
