G'day (love that zh fairlane btw^^)
My names dave, and I'm a serial repeat ford owner. Im 28 and from the barossa valley. Currently i have a ebII Gli currently on jack stands with the head off that im assessing if i need to throw the block away. An EbII xr6 manual that has just had a big rebuilt with some seriously nice head work done. A Lexus LS400 with the 1uzfe v8 in it that im thinking about dropping into something small. And my new project my Xe 351 manual. I picked up this xe from VIC about a month ago, broke dwn about 5 times on the way home. Previous owner was a fruitloop. Claimed to be a "machanic by trade" Anyways, after a pulled off all the procomp stuff and repaced it with good bits like Holley HP 750DP mech/sec, weiand manifold, original ford elec ignition, Max performance headers, mech high velocity fuel pump, big new v8 aussie made radiator and piping and a proper aircleaner 'n shes off and racing. The motors supposed to of had only 5000k's on it from a "ford dealer" rebuild, the guy i bought it from had a dirty *** leaking (shower head style) 6 cyl radiator on it so the motor was full of mud, rust and crap, but the oil and sump look like new as do all the gaskets over the engine so i tend to believe him on the 5000 k's. All bits so far are from Sawka Performance on main north road, and cooling system from Barossa Radiators in tanunda and the guys at Autopro Clovercrest help me out a bit. These are pretty much the only people im buying gear through now, as there are so many dodgy places out there. The wiring is still from the last owner so it could burst into flames at any moment. Heres some pics before it does. Im fairly sociable big fella, and I try and keep everything as legal as possible including my driving. I do enjoy the sound of a good blast but im more interested in keeping the police smiling as they could easily ruin my day. Im not the most experienced with engine work, but i can hold my own, and im always keen to hear from the more experienced blokes on here. Cheers. cu on the streets!

Afternoon chaps,
Dormant member from way back, last posted before fordforums.au split from the original fordforums. Back into the Fords again, thank god. Garage is as follows: Putting an XM ute on the road (old boy did all the hard work a decade and a half ago) Bought a TDCi MA Mondeo in 08. 00 Triumph Thunderbird 900 00 Proton Persona Last Ford I owned before these was a ED XR6, which I sold to a forum member - not sure where it ended up. It's good to be back into the fold. Cheers, Brett |
