Though the only thing I see wrong with your post is that there is no current FG XR8 - the boss engine never made it past June '10 (I think) because of emissions requirements. I don't know that there'd be a XR8 again as I think Ford/FPV are pushing the GS as the low end V8 entry.

Really wow shows how much I've been paying attention to FG's. I've sworn never to buy a newer model Ford again so really haven't been paying attention.

So looks like the XR8 might not be so bad to hold onto after all.

6 speed manual was available on BA II, TC wasn't until FG for utes.

XR8 should be sometime next year.
