Right tee oh. I have been holding my tongue for a few posts now on this subject of work get togethers. I think it's time to break my silence.

A long time ago, when some viewers were still swingin' in dads bag, (early 1990's)
I had a friend whom I met through work. Worked with him everyday for 3+ years. We became great mates, and socialised at every opportunity after work hours. For example, if I needed something, I could pick up the phone anytime day or night and ask. The answer would always be the same...
What do you need? Where are you? was the response.

NOT a swear word or curse before asking "what do you want".
A true friend. Was very said when he passed. We were like brothers.

We never talked about work.. well, if work did come up, it was only to do with someone at work, that had a car problem. That's it.

We were both rev / petrol heads, and had no need to talk about work. A common interest.

So.. just sayin, alot of the people we work with aren't worth the time of day outside of work because there's nothing in common, apart from work I spose. 99% of the current peeps I work with are cool. Would I buy any of them a beer? Yes, One maybe 2 of them.

Why?

Because they actually say things that are worth remembering.
Intelligent people with many varied interests, like myself. A broad range of things / topics to yak about.
I think that's the key, to a happy end of year work "party".
As Vekgib said, Why have a whinge on your own time and NOT be paid for it?
Couldn't agree with you more Vekgib.

Happy December everyone.
