It looks INTERESTING, thats for sure. I just prefer understated class with some grunt... I dont think anyone would say the SRT8 is understated... LOL

Just remember the 300C is a show pony and the Typhoon is a work horse.
Its exactly the same as the Holden its quick in a straight line but when it comes to the corners that's where FPV shines. Remember the FPV's is an overall package. Just read the article in the magazines and see who had the better chassis between the STR-8, HSV Senetor and FPV GT!

That 300c on 22's is HOT!! But I'd still have a Typhoon first... nothing beats the rush from a boosted turbo.

I had a look at a 330C before I ordered my Typhoon. I prefered the phoon.
The 300C doesnt do it for me. Looks like an old mans car. (its about as aerodynamic as a tank). That my opinion only. Dont know if anyone saw the top gear review Jeremy Clarkson did. Seemed to be letdown by the 300c. Didnt quite meet his expectations. Mind you that wasnt the SRT version. |

To me the 300c looks like a Mafia Staff Car. I could just see Tony Soprano cruising up to the Bada Bing Stripclub in his shiny black yank tank.
I'd take an FPV over the 300 any day. |

Chalk another vote for the 300C here! some people like a thing called presence, the F6 is not bad but the 300C kills it. And performance differences are so minimal it doesn't really matter.

Love the 300Cs, they're tuff. Looking foward to seeing a matt-black one with laker pipes & riding on 13x10 & 13x15 "stockies", nose-down ***-up
And a set of bull's horns up front :P |

300c SRT would be my choice, no questions. The only good thing in the Ford is the gearbox and engine. The rest, MEH!!

GO ATMO V8's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This hemi in the srt-8 is a monster! Just imagine if the BOSS was a 6L :jab: instead we have to put up with cheap mongrel slap up V8's and big taxi sixes that were literally forced to be force fed.

As said the typhoon looks soft compared to a 300c and i'd take one over an f6 even if ti was 20 grand extra as it's just got that special look to it. The typhoon looks to much like a stocker for me. Should start a poll cause this looks close.

I've been trying to stay out of this but the input from people who haven't driven the 300C SRT-8 has finally got the better of me.
If we want to talk performance numbers for stock vehicles then there are plenty of US based SRT's running in the low 13's and those with CAI / Exhaust well into the high 12's. From what I can see that is pretty much equal footing. Our 300C's are all built in Austria and they are well screwed together - I'd rate the interior of an FPV GT-P and the SRT8 roughly equal and thus near enough to the Typhoon as well. Styling is an individual thing. I like the SRT8 for the way in which it manages to look muscular without having to yell it in your ear with ironing board rear wings and side skirts but that's entirely personal taste. It's part of the reason I chose it. The SRT8 is a massively more comfortable place to be in than either of the FPV cars. Around a track I'd pick the Typhoon myself but as I don't do that very often and can use the much more nimble Mustang for that purpose, it is not of any major significance. As a daily driver I don't like the performance characteristics of the Typhoon power delivery nor do I like the way it rides. The SRT8 is a much smoother and quieter thing to drive and altogether more civilised. It uses about the same fuel as the GT-P but obviously more than a Thphoon unless it is hard driven when it's none too flash either. The cars really aren't directly comparable. The SRT's main competition is really the GT-P and Grange where it is more than their equal in my opinion. Cheers Russ

as a female who has driven all 3 - the phoon, and both chryslers (300C and the SRT8) - I'd quite happily give up ford (and the punkin) forever to have the chrysler -either of them!!!!!
It handles amazingly, you don't have to fork out more money for "extras" (except for the moon-roof - then again they're not too sure how much the sports wagon version is going to be - which is what I want in the SRT8), even turning traction control off you still don't lose it like you do in the phoon. Internally it has more room, nicer to look at and be in. Is comfortable for both passenger and driver (unlike some ford vehicles). Ok it is bigger in size but who really cares. It is about the same in fuel economy. Cost-wise the stock standard 300C is the same price (if not cheaper) than the phoon. You're looking at about another $20K for the SRT8.

This is the key:
Typhoon: Torque 550 Nm @ 2000 rpm 300c SRT: Torque 569 Nm @ 4800 rpm The Phoon hits its max torque just above idle. The SRT, like all V8s, needs to wind up to 4,800rpm to get only 19Nm more.

If he really wants to sell his F6 to buy the SRT-8 for power he should definatly just top himself for being so ignorant. V8's only beet the Turbo'd I6 of the line as soon as that lil turbo kicks in that V8 may as well crash and burn into that concrete wall that surounds the race track. ... Why else would you ban Skylines from the V8's. But for sure these are 2 totally deferant cars aimd at two different markets. to compare the two is just WRONG and hence go top ur self ... here i'll go get you the pistol! but yea F6 ALL THE WAY!!!!!
oh don't forget really they are both American cars ;) |
