I think you'll find that I was inferring that in a comparison of experience vs quality. Our pollies who are seasoned are abysmal and don't even know what they're own policies are. Can't answer questions, and are geographically stupid. (CANADIA) It's called experience - and he has none in this arena. Will they eat him alive? probably. Or he may surprise us. I guess I'm saying what I've been saying the whole thread. Judging someone on their first attempt at something is an ********* attitude. And anyone who was pinning their hopes on a party headed by littler is a fool.

Everyone forgets, Ricky is just an average bloke who stuck his hand up when many wouldn't even though they say the supported AMEP. Willessee never showed the rest of the interview and I doubt we will ever see it. Talking to a friend at Seven, MW's agenda was to make Ricky and the others look like fools and a lot of editiing was done to arrange the effect.
The parts you saw about Ricky were supposedly pre to recording but got included at editing level to suit the agenda of Seven, Kerry Stokes and Mike Willessee. Of course Mike Willessee has no bias given his son is the Chief od Media for Joe Hockey abnd they use the Willessee family company to do up their ads. Even Social media is decrying the bias shown by Channel 7 and Mike WIllessee who never declared his connection to the Liberal Party. An agenda was set and the agenda was met. |

See, my take on this appears to be slightly different to everyone else's so far.
To me, Ricky appeared to be reciting learnt script. On a subject that should not need to have verbatim recitation of exact script, because he should live this stuff. Sure, he froze, but not just because of the cameras, questioning, etc it was because he forgot his scripted lines. And I am not naive enough to believe that politicians who have passion for a particular subject don't use a script, but surely, if you are actually passionate about a subject, if you forget the script, you can simply improvise and say what you want without it. What worries me the most about all of this, is who is Ricky actually the puppet for? Who wrote the script for him, thereby effectively telling him what to say. Personally, I think this is what MW was trying to get out of the interview process that aired. Craig H

You run Ricky Muir down, but point to anyone of the major Parties as individuals, not spoon fed the Party bullshit that they have to spruik regardless and they will all be the same as Ricky, here are a couple of outstanding Liberal candidates who WERE spoon fed and still managed to **** it up

He went on a trip to Boston with his mates and Mike Willesee, one would think that there would be a fair chance that if MW and a camera crew were tagging along there just could be an interview on the cards? I know you think I'm being a bit harsh with my ********* attitude and all but mate, this is politics and he's the one who has chosen to enter the game. I know he's a newbie but there's no excuse for not being able to provide a plausible response to those few questions MW asked. They were pretty basic let's face it. Are we to believe he's done no media at all since he was elected? If he hasn't then he's wasted some very valuable media development opportunities, and those advising him need a swift kick in the backside. I have a fair bit to do with media as part of my job and one thing you never do is go into an interview devoid of subject knowledge. Russ |

Give the guy a chance, watch what he does when he is part of the senate rather than judging a new guy who found himself in the big boy league on his first few media appearances.
I'm sure Uncle Clive will give him some advice. |

Give the guy a chance, boo hoo. Naughty Mike Willesee, boo hoo. After market industry, boo hoo. The saw mill was a friendlier place, boo hoo.
People need to watch the video clips, he and the others are nothing more than Clive's bitches, in the background you can hear Clive telling them what to say! What a collection of imbeciles, I though Lazarus had more integrity, obviously not. |

Amazing how evreyone is bagging Ricky, yet when AMEP were looking for people to run and many on here were saying it was a great idea, who actually put up their hands????
None of you on here bleating away but the looks of it. When you put your hand up to support the formation of AMEP, you could have done more by putting your hand up but as more often than not in the car scene, everyone wants but never wants to do anything. Stick your hand up in 3 years time for AMEP or any other party your affiliated to and show you can do a better job, otherwise your just as bad as the media and their bias. |

I'm not a fan of the system that got Ricky Muir (or any of the other clowns that did preference deals) into parliament, but anyone can go blank when put on the spot. I've done it and if any of you guys criticizing had ever done anything out of your comfort zone, you'd probably have gone blank before too... |

What this screams to me is that Senator elects, whether they be Ricky or anybody else are on FAR TOO MUCH money. For an entry level job they should be on $50,000. Once you have done several years service and you have proved to be competent you will go to a higher level of pay.

At least he should have a kick *** ride...
Didn't he go AWOL for a few months too? Dunno anything about this dude, but if it was me, I'd be stomping at the gate wanting to get in... Once your in that line of work it's gravy train for life, he needs to put in the hard yards now if he wants his chance to drop the snout in the trough like the rest of them. |
