Locally the Falcon XY-XWs were the pinnacle of Aussie Muscle. Modern day Falcons have had great motors like the I6T and S/C 5.0. I'm a big fan of the FG's styling as well as thesedays I'm more into Euro cars than anything else.

Globally the GT40, Mustang and F-Truck are all fantastic cars.

I don't think much of Ford the company ( having dealt with them in the past)
Regarding Australian fords XR to XE's for me, EB is ok then they kind of lost their way (IMO)
Even the new ones don't do anything for me
I'm sure they are good cars but they don't excite me enough to buy one
My last 2 new cars were a VT Berlina fully optioned including HSV wheels & SS body kit ( it was either this or an AU) and the other a CV8 R Monaro

I love the Falcon because of the exclusiveness of the i6 and i6t to Australia :P

Here is my story - for those who can be bothered..........

I come from a family where cars are transport - and that's about it. I have nobody in my family that has an interest in cars, no uncles or cousins that owned cool cars, and no neighbors either.... Nobody is really sure how the car 'bug' bit me - but it did. BIG TIME.

It all started when I was a toddler, living in the USA. I would spot Taxi's from the back seat before I could even talk properly... It wasn't until later that my mother noticed that I was spotting cars that weren't Yellow/Chequered and calling them Taxi's, that she realised I was actually remembering the FORD badge and not the colours/appearance of the car. I was fascinated in cars, and at a young age had no allegiance to a brand.

As a school kid I was hooked on car TV shows and movies... I grew up watching Knight Rider, Hardcastle & McCormick, The A-Team, etc on TV, and when we would visit the Video shop I would borrow movies like The Cannonball Run, Gone in 60 Seconds, etc... (I also pleaded to borrow 'Blowers Burnouts & Boobs' which I later found out was all from the Summernats... )

Then as a teen, I really focused more on the racing and was fascinated with the history of Touring Cars in Australia... I would watch the Bathurst coverage each and every year (alone - because nobody else was interested) and I really looked forward to the nostalgic stories of a guy named Alan and another guy named Peter who used to race around the mountain. I also fell in love with the Peter Jackson sponsored Falcons, I just reckoned they looked ace. With a friend, we'd visit the Thunderdome every time there was a race on. I can remember watching the Nascar races, though I enjoyed the Auscars and Sportsman categories more... as they were Aussie cars!

It then came time to buy my first car.... and my parents were not happy that I was looking at performance cars... I pointed out to them that I could buy an XB/XC with a 302ci for well under $5,000 (those were the days) but they would not even consider that I could buy a V8. I researched the legislation and had a series of cars picked out that would allow me to have a V8 and were under the power-to-weight figures, but it was no use. I ended up buying a 10yr old XF Fairmont which was a great first car (though - no V8)... Since then it has always been Fords... I finally got a killer EB F/Ghia and then an EB XR6 - thanks to my love for those early 90s PJ cars...

Since then, it's always been about the old clunkers... There is really nothing as enjoyable as sitting in the garage firing up an old 351 clevo and breathing in those rich fumes as the car decides whether or not its going to idle... Driving out of the garage and onto the street, watching the shaker pitch to the side as you start going properly... These are things I could do every day and never get sick of - EVER.

So back to the OP - why do I love/like Ford?? Well I suppose FORD chose me... I've never owned a bad one... and I've never felt the need to change brands... If it ain't broke then why fix it?? I've owned plenty of Ford cars over the years, some have been better than others... Some I wish I never sold, but none that I wish I'd never bought...

I still have respect for many other brands, I still really like plenty of other cars, and I am certainly not Anti-Holden... (after driving many of the general's legends - you have to love them)

So thats my rant... Thats why I love Ford...
