I like it a lot and will try and get the wifey into a MPS if they do an auto version.
If not the SP25 version

If they are as reliable as the MZR-CD that my silly young sheep who only wants the latest electronics gadgets drives we might do the same.
Nice to see you don't need the extra expense of diesel to get decent fuel economy.

I really like this design theme, can you imagine how horn a RX7 would look.

For people crapping on about them all looking the same, look at any decade and there are trends/themes/similarities...pretty normal.

Except for the AU, but that makes me like it more.

AU was part of the Evian water bottle (New Edge) design theme.

MK1 Focus was part of that too I think? Put in this market it was pretty different.

I like it, I,ve never driven a mazda 3 but if they drive anything like a 6 id happily own one, Mazda's build quality and customer service is exceptional, if I was in the market for a new car I would defiantly be considering one of these

"Buzzbox" What is this, the 1970's?

Anybody throwing that comment relating to small cars (which aren't that small anyway) just shows their ignorance to everyone.

Would you even consider a GT86, if God willing Ford made something to the equivalent, or are you sold on Hot FWD cars?

My family garage currently has 2 local Ford products from 2004, a newish 2008 VW, and a Mazda from 2002.

By far the Mazda has been the most trouble free and has been the easiest dealer network to deal with on the rare occasions that has been required.

This looks like a worthy replacement. Well done Mazda.

I didn't like the new Mazda 'corporate face' on the MX5 but it looks great on the 6 and 3.

Ok
I would if it was circa 240-270hp, no doubt. If it was released with a factory turbo then it would be even better. Dont get me wrong, as you know i love a hot hatch thats for sure. But if the GT86 was as above, i reckon id own one. Only thing that may have turned me away is it might be a little impractical for me as we do do a couple of interstate trips every year, so if if did meet above criteria then i may have had to take a cpl suitcases along to see what i could fit in it
When my missus got her corolla i sat in one, god its a nice place to be.

Fair enough. The GT86 is a nice place to be too. Now that I've put the idea in your head you just might do it... but DON'T, because I believe that a Ford Forums moderator should drive a Ford.

Im not a mod

But yeah, i reckon if it it were as above and priced similarly to my car i may have, but id find it very hard not to buy a Ford and id be worried if i didnt have a Ford i might not be happy. But if Ford made something similar (Not Mustang sized) id be all over it. But other than that i couldnt part with my ST.

My Eldest brother has a 2009 GS Mazda 6 Luxury. Not a bad little ride, the sport feature is fun to play with - I mean those silly flappy paddles, and the build quality is solid and lots of interesting features. However for me, the Dash was laden with buttons, and switches - which weren't grouped very well, so it was all over the place. The Ride was far too firm for a luxury car, the steering had no feel besides rubber, and peddles were mooshy. It's most redeeming quality was the peppy little 2.5 that liked to rev.

The most modern FWD car I've driven, but it didn't feel as good as my Falcon.

Oh well. You used to be. Go drive a GT86 then. A middle aged pommy man at the local petrol pump told me he loved his... so it's must be good. It would be like planning ahead for you. Trade in the Corolla for it.

Mazda should throw in a one way ticket to Japan with every one of these sold. If people are so determined to support the Japanese economy then they may as well go and live there so they can do it on a full time basis..

Love the shape, probably the first hatch rear on a car of this shape that I actually like.

I'd be interested in looking at an MPS version - can't see why they wouldn't do one, probably still in the works.

I'm glad to see they haven't squashed the crap out of the rear windows like some of the others.
MPS will most likely be a while - gotta get the mainstream cars built first.

God i hope they do, even though the old 3MPS could be a bit of a handful, the BK model was such a nice looking car. The BL (in my eyes) wasnt as good looking but still wasnt bad.

I don't believe they will bring out a new MPS unless they invest substantial capital in developing forced induction for the 2.5 Skyactive engine. The 2.3 Turbo is now an orphan motor, with no platform.

Having modified my 2.3T, there isn't much left in it, if you want to keep it emissions friendly.
