Just wanted to say thanks for the help guys, it's been awesome having this amount of support and helpfulness, you guys are second to none.
Test is friday 9AM so I'll report back telling you how I went. If I pass it will probably be one of the happiest days of my life haha. Did a lot of parallel parking practice today, reverse was a ***** at times, but 9/10 it went in okay, after putting it in reverse, gently letting the clutch out while sort of wiggling it helps it slot in. I do not really envision this transmission holding out for long, even after it's in sometimes it pops out of gear :( Poor van has had a very, very hard life. engine rebuilt @ 110,000 Clutch done at 90,000! gearbox dying at 130,000. Anyone got any tips for parallel parking? Not overly confident about it. |

Early 90s a mate of mines instructor was a Reebok Nissan Pulsar hatch manual. All good. Test day - no Nissan but unannounced VK Commodore v8 auto sedan....

Hi. The tester has to be able to see the speedo from where they sit (behind passenger) and have a lap/sash seat belt. Cheers MD

I did my heavy vehicle licence in an ancient Acco...they said, more or less, "if you can drive this thing, you can drive anything".
They should enjoy the experience of riding in a proper Kombi and accept it isn't going to be as modern as some new tinny bucket... |

Oh yeah! Thanks for the support guys Got a score of 113 which I think is pretty damn good! Woulda been perfect, if not for one error Didn't see that there was a merge/sliplane thing so I slightly crossed over into the main path of traffic (no cars of course!) and lost a point for vehicle control haha. |

Haha more like drop the tranny and the oil on the ground, in 500 pieces. kombi isn't made for hooning!
anyone got insurance tips? Shannon's were great with the kombi, premium up $150/yr and excess stays the same. territory is $600yr increase. current cost for just my dad is $600 premium 600 excess. if I drive, 1200 premium, 600 excess. |

Dont add yourself to there policy, just make sure unnamed drivers are covered.
Its not your car so you dont need to be on the policy.

I'd laugh if you rocked up for the test in one like this-
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=umT-_UR151U I did my test, in my own car - 1986 XF wagon. Tester didn't care one bit.
