Ok, but when petrol was last under $1 a litre, LPG was about 30 cents.
Nah, sorry. Late 2006 was when petrol was last under a dollar and LPG was high forty cents a litre.

Maybe in Brisbane, but in Melbourne I was still paying on average 40 cents throughout most of 2006.

Cheapest I ever saw LPG in recent times was 27.9 (with voucher) in mid 2005.

Seems that we're the lucky state with pricing though compared to others. Have not yet seen petrol under 99 cents this week.

I shed a tear when I saw the litres figure going up faster than the dollar figure at the pump this week.

Oil was about $45 a barrell today, so that means the prices should stay down for a little while longer.

Just the other day I got petrol for $1.02 at my normal servo, today I was driving past a servo just down a bit from my normal servo and their price was $1.16.

I thought damn I've missed the cheap fill up opportunity. Get a bit down the road to my normal place and lo and behold it is still down at $1.02 I reckon one kM between the two places.

And by the way E10 was 99.9, first time I have seen petrol below $1. Normal sale price I mean not one of those silly pricing wars where the servo sells it at 50 cents for a one hour period.

PS LPG 49.9

Well at work the best we hit yesterday was 92.9 for ulp and 89.9 for e10, then take off your 4c/L discount. I ended up getting 98oct for 99.9 Today it was 105.9
And by now everyone should know that on wednesday arvo/night or thursday mornings fuel goes up. Its a chain reaction from a few major players in each city, as your competion in a 3km radius matches your price.

It's called Thursday. :

How petrol stations get away with hiking up the price 10c/litre+ on 'pay day' is beyond me.

does anyone else agree with me in that the media has a large role in hyping all this up? True though, if they didn't people might not particularly notice and then the big oil companies might be able to get away with robbery and extortion. Theres always short segments on the news about how oil is at record low prices and the savings are 'coming soon', but all i see is 'market analysts' telling us that we should soon see a reduction by a half a cent a litre over the coming years, and then spokespeople for 'petrol pricing commissions' telling us that "these oil companies are not going to get away with it and we'll make sure motorists are seeing the savings!"

but you see mr commissioner: they ARE getting away with it!

Filed up yesterday at 99.5c per litre and today at same servo it was $1.16, really gets me how they can get away with that. Suppose its all supply and demand and most people fill up on a thursday.
