The cars used to bigger burnouts back then..

1st pic Victor Bray he was known as the burnout king everybody loved Victor.
2nd pic Jungle Jim Carter, 3rd pic Peter Russo,
Checkout picture 5 the back ground cars parked on 2 levels on the hills behind massive crowds back then.

Some memories brought back here. I used to have a heap of cheapo camera pics of the likes of Romeo Capitanio in his Sidchrome fueller & funny car, the older Zap's Rat, Jungle Jim Carter, both Steve Read's, Hans Van Dyke, Taverna, and the Sammut's when I used to go to Calder regularly at about 12 yrs old.

One of my brothers mates pit crewed on Russell Simpson's funny car, he built a brand new one which was one of the best looking ones I had seen till he blew it up first outing back. I did have pics but wouldnt have a clue where they ended up over the years. A few of those guys also crewed on Keith Agius's Oz Nitro funny car which also over revved and blew up hitting Darren Carter's car past the finish line. I got video of it but it's probably in the same place as the old photo's!

Here are a couple of pics of the man who started this thread that I think are appropriate at this time.

I know it looks a bit old school but it ran a 10.80 @ 123.

A lot of people don't know that Craig was a Chevy genius before he was a Ford one.

I'll wouldnt think that time will get beaten for a while longer too.

Thats was tough 260 Mark, those other shots at WSID of Craigs ute was a week or so before when he did a 12.4 at full weight (well only running slicks/frontrunners) and was his usual kind self and handed me the keys for a couple of passes.
