I had a 993cc suzuki swift as my first car, and since I lived on a dirt road I put a pair of those big "back off!" 4WD mudflaps on it. I mean that was stupid enough but when I moved to Adelaide, I neglected to remove them, then in front of my housemates I had to reverse into the driveway, which was steep enough for the mudflaps to catch on the rear-wheels and rip the rear bumper off! I removed the mudflaps and used racing tape to reconnect the rear bumper.
That racing tape is good stuff, when I sold the car the front bumper and also the wing-mirror were held on with the stuff |

theres a few of them from a while back, I remember pulling off onto some grass (it was raining heavily at the time) to answer my phone when I had the XE 250. Went to take off and the thing wouldnt move, bags of torque + wet grass + open wheeler = bogged. I remember the diff centre even sinking in the muck... Went to do a burnout in said XE after reversing back and forgot to actually slip it in first, lift up the revs pop out the clutch and next thing i know its flying backwards. Lucky no one was behind but it sure was embarrassing. Had a VL ages ago that had a worn steering wheel. I figure pffft who needs a steering wheel puller, thats what our muscles are for. So off goes the horn pad and wheel nut, I'm pulling and pulling breaking a sweat then next thing i know Im seeing stars from the steering wheel that just slammed up against my face. I've made sure to ALWAYS leave the nut slightly on or use a steering wheel puller after that painful experience. One night while very tired I finish filling up petrol and begin to exit the servo. For some strange reason I decide to reset the trip metre mid way through a turn, sticking my arm through the steering wheel. A steering wheel will not return if an arm is stuck through which caused me to head over the medium strip for a little bit. That could have been worse if it was just opposit traffic but luckily enough it wasnt. There are a few more classics but I think thats enough for now

First day driving it..was reversing out a carpark and someone smashed into me. Rear quarter panel! He has never let me live that one down! Is all fixed now...but never lets me park it anywhere!!

A mate and i were driving thru melbourne, and having a perve, all of a sudden bang! straight up on an island i didn't even see it. Didn't surprise me it happen, just more that i haven't done it before.
EA90gl that arm in the steering wheel thing is real problem, been caught like that a few times too. |

Get air bourne at hill near my place, usually a smooth landing if hit between 100-130km/h... only floating for about 2 seconds or so. But this night me and my mate thought we would go all out, so in about 500m of road leading upto to this hill being on the go pedal for the whole time until lift off you can imagine how fast we were going. Last thing I said before lift off was 'this is a bad idea' and then the car was mid flight for about 5 seconds, landed hard and fished tailed across 2 lanes for about 50m trying to bring her back straight and stoped about 1m away from a stop sign of a busy intersection. Probably the dumbest thing ive ever done. No damage to the car apart from scrubbing on all 4 tyres.

Driving while really fatigued one night, almost screwed up real bad. I'd probably had about four hours sleep in the last two days. Driving back from uni at night I was the first car in my lane at an intersection, waiting for a red light.
For some reason something in my brain said "oh, it's gone green" so I lifted my foot off the brake and lightly started applying throttle. Luckily I only moved about three or four metres before I woke up and realised I was still facing a red and other cars were in the intersection! I really do believe fatigue can kill now... totally screwed with my driving ability that day.

Running up the back of an e-series club member on a car cruise while giving another e-series member the finger. Um... yeah, that was quite embarrassing, and nearly spelt the end of the EA.
Also, when fitting my EF mirrors, we had to drill a few holes to make them fit. Anyway I stupidly drilled one of the holes with the door closed. I was wondering why it was taking so long so I went to open the door. It wouldn't open. I let the drill bit out, and the door opened. Sure enough, I'd drilled right through the door and into the base of the a-pillar.

Putting on a AWC fiberglass front bar, that wasnt smart :( Having the window tint too dark then running over a stump i couldnt see at night. (the reason i needed a new front bar lol) Puttign the Bulbs in the tail lights the wrong way around, melting the plastic. Putting a Cable from the battery to the starter motor OVER the heationg pipe, causing the cable to melt, then blow up in two parts, stranding me in caboolture :( (XF) |

early eighties, XP falc, wet road, TA's = car in ditch, no major damage though
selling XM coupe I had aquired for a project, (couldn't afford to do this at 17) allowing someone else to take said coupe, and end up smashing it up in their back yard, (tear rolls down left cheek) |

Cruising portsea in the XY with the boys; some summertime perving and didn't realise the only set of lights in Portsea were red and locked her up with probably around 50 or so people watching!

Driving an emergency services (name of organisation withheld...) Hilux 4WD (fully marked with lights and sirens) through Mascot and drove into an intersection on Red. Slammed on the brakes and came to a screeching halt in the middle of the intersection in a cloud of billowing white smoke.
It was bad enough that everyone else saw it, but to make matters worse the car in the next lane was also a fully marked emergency vehicle... of the law enforcement variety! I got very a stern warning through a wound down window and left alone. I'm not sure whether the treatment would have been the same in my own car, but either way I made a goose of myself and thoroughly learned my lesson! EDIT: Just to remove any ambiguity from my post, I was NOT expediting under lights and sirens. Just driving normally and not paying enough attention to the road.

There's been too many!!! Letting the back end slide out in front of the cops wasnt the smartest thing iv done... Going out the mission (place where lots of aboriginies live) in the EF with a mate filming them and having them lob pizza through the window was a funny one lol. In a mates corona we decided to move a big roller thing ( it was like something used to roll a cricket pitch but it was to suit the towball of a car ) went to do a U-turn with that hooked to the back and it rolled over beinding the tow bar!!! In a mates commodore doing circle work on dirt and busting a tyre without a spare 5k out of town!!

me and 2 mates in one of their's corona's(carby 4cyl - he used to put diesel in it lol) took it down the back of his property to have some drunken fun.. got it bogged, got it out.. then go it up a slope and then the gear selector came off the synchro or whatever.. so we pulled the cenre console apart with a crow bar and fixed it as well as we could.. put it back together, got it up the slope did a lot of circle work in the mud, got soaked and more drunk and then had to repeat everything we first did to get it back out lol

just about the stupidest thing i've done is one freezing morning i was late for work so ran out to my el (didn't even get the frost off my windows just used my wipers) and took off down the road.
i then proceeded to turn left straight into the sun which blinded me because the frost was still on there,i tried to pull over to the left not seeing where i was going, and then appeared a big dark shadow (all i could say was ) followed by a very violent crash,i stepped out of my crumpled car to realise i had smashed into a car carrier truck that had just finished unloading brand new 380's(thank god). the result was a very smashed up el and a truck with not one bit of damage on it...looking back on it the funniest part was when my brother who was in the car said "so spose i've gotta walk to school now" : . |

my worst was chasing a mate on his trailbike around a motorcross track (i was in an hq kingswood) all went well until we came to our first jump and my passenger worked out that i wasnt joking. i can still hear him screaming OHHHH F@#kkkkk as we hit a set of doubles at approx 50 miles an hour, all was well until at about 3 meters above the ground we found out that hqs are nose heavy and face planted the car into the ground. i somhow ended up outside the car after being thrown out of the open window with a very sore head, (passenger was fine). after a new waterpump, radiator and engine mounts the hq lived for another 3 years of abuse. i copped a huge serve from the old man when i explained why we needed him to come and tow us home, and its still an often told story in the pubs of my home town as i did it in front of about 50 people. who all thought it was a crack up.

Trying to find a spot to give the missus a "good time", so I find a narrow service road (car width) which was between a creek and a electrical plant, ground was all grass and it rained about 5 days before this. So i figure what's the worst that could happen and also if that's private, went down there and got bogged about 100m in. Whislt trying to get out popped my tyre. Then called RACQ then the 5 ton flat bed tow truck they sent procedded to get bogged trying to get to me (surprise) and almost slid into the creek.
45 minutes later flat bed got out and called his 4wd mate and got me out. Night only costed me $100 and a 6 pack. Plus I still got laid. : |

First time driving, I was being tail gated by a Lexus, and so I was intimidated, and not wanting to keep him waiting I though I would take a small roundabout at about 40km/h. I understeered into a kerb, chopped out a tyre and gave my rim a nasty scrape. Now I always slow at roundabouts!
Driving on the F3, not thinking, I put on my indicator to change lanes, but didn't look properly and nearly changed into the side of a VE Calais! Now I always look properly!!
