Dont know if I should be admitting this but I went into the tyre shop and asked for white letterd tyres couple of years back. I had no at all. So I ended up fattening my rubber out to 245's.

it works for v8 supercars, DTM world touring cars, NASCARs, and virtually any form of motorsport you care to mention. the originals were meant to make your car look like race rubber. Why not???? Photochop please!!!!

A truer statement could not be made!!

I had a set of Yoky 352's put on my car many years ago. The retard put the lettering on the outside (I forgot to give instructions as I thought he would know better). He then wanted full price to change the tyres so the lettering was on the inside. I took it to a mate with a tyre changer the very same day. So bloody gay!!

DOC> I take it that is done using a paint pen yeah?

That's basicly what I want to be able to buy, I like the look as it's different but i don't want to be colouring in letters every 2weeks either, i think it would look nice with The DUNLOP& SP SORT in colour.

That was done by brush and using acrylic paint, the effort was in vain as it peeled off the first drive with tyre flex.

That was my fault as i did not scrub clean the tyre before painting it ( it had tyre gel on the lettering hence it did not stay )

Since i have used a yellow tyre crayon ( purchased from bob jane ) but again did not clean the lettering of all tyre gel before hand but it did stay the curse and is easy to touch up if need be with the crayon.

all in all an oil based paint with very clean tyres ( lettering ) or the crayon ( also available in white would be my choices.

A gentle scruff would help aswell, and if you could be bothered a flex additive.

Well the scrub will get the paint hating silicon away, the scuff with a scotch-brite (grey or maroon). And a flex additive normaly used for bumper bars etc.

Mind you, a flex additive is an extreem way to go...the crayon being more practical.

Try Liquid Paper for it, it will stick good.

And go the Whole hog and put M/T on the side, If not Hoosier and see how quickly you can be pulled over!

Dont mind the raised white lettering, just not on blingy wheels.

When I first purchased my XR Fairmont it had Eagers with White Lettering on the outside and was jacked up in the rear.
It also came with a rainbow pillow.

http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d1...nd/Img0421.jpg

The pillow went to the dog and the tyres got turned around the very next day.

If you were going to restore a car to the era then I guess it looks OK.

Must say the Dunlops in yellow look tempting.
