Hi all,
Have just gotten myself an 08 FG XR6 N/A Auto.
Upgraded from a Toyota Soarer which, although unreliable, was a beast of a machine. But need something more reliable and also family friendly.
Car is stock as a rock at the moment, apart from the window tint I have gotten so far. Have a big list of things to do but all in good time.
Found an awesome Soarer forum, so hopefully this one can be just as good for my XR.

Hi all, long time lurker, first time poster! Just (today) picked up an 04 RTV with 168,000 on the clock for the measly price of $4500! Stoked is an understatement!

Howdy all. Name's Luke. Just swapped my clapped out Vt ss for a very tidy 6cyl NL Fairlane duel fuel auto. Has a few kms on it but I don't mind. I'm used to having to maintain older cars. Been looking round here for about a week now and have found some useful info.

Cheers and I hope I can contribute at some point.
Luke.

Gidday everyone Im Rob.Currently own a TE Cortina Ghia engineered with a 351 cleveland,AOD & shortened 9"LSD disc rear ,Kawasaki GTR1400 & just bought an XC Fairmont GXL to replace the cortina cos my wife doesnt enjoy riding in it which is important for me because we dont have kids at home any more & as we go to car shows & cruise i want her to be comfortable & enjoy the ride too. Cortina will be for sale soon & bike is currently for sale & all funds to go to the GXL.No doubt I will be asking some questions in the future on this forum to fill in gaps in my knowledge of XCs'.

Hi guys , just joined up here having recently bought a MK 6 Petrol Transit. Hoping to find some other Transit owners on here (Petrol) , as the majority of Transits seem to be diesel these days and info. has been difficult to find.
Would also be interested to know of any mechanics , in Brisbane , that specialise in Ford vans/Transits.
Cheers

Hello all, I joined up having just recently traded in my old PT Cruiser for a brand new Focus Titanium. Easily the best car I've ever driven let alone owned. I've managed to rack up over 1000kms & it's not even a week old. The biggest disappointment is having to get out of it when I get home, ha ha.
I'm enjoying reading the forums & picking up plenty of tips, tricks & knowledge about my new machine.

Hi all. Been lurking for a while and decided to join as its a great site for us Ford fans. I've had a few Fords over the years - the most notable being an XR 289 Fairmont and an XB 302 Fairmont. Wish I still had them but a simple EA does the job now.

Hi all, longtime lurker first time poster..haha
I currently have an EL XR8 Falcon which I intend to work up a bit.
Notable previous car would be a tunnelrammed v8 mk5 (TF) Cortina which was a lot of fun.
I plan to do another project at some stage, not sure what I want to sink my teeth into yet.

Hi! Have needed advice from here so many times, though I may as well join haha
I'm 19 now and bought my BA MkII XR6 as my first car.
Don't really want to do anything massive to it, except looking for a Pursuit front bumper and bonnet, and maybe some GT stripes...when I have enough money that is :P

Didnt see this topic before till now, any how. Im here after lurking for a week looking for info which i found.

Im a proud owner of a 1970 Ford Fairmont Xw. The Fairmont Xw 1970 has been in family since 1979 used to be my dads car & is in original from factory & unmolested, is currently off road for 15 years, im also a new owner of an Xr6T 2003 BA Falcon.

I been a ford fan since my dad bought his very first car in Australia back in 1979 & thats the Fairmont 1970 Xw. i'm sincerely hoping to begin restoring the xw Fairmont as soon as im able to, its one of my life's dream now.

All the fords ive owned.

ZD Ford Fairlane 1971, was my first car.
Xc Fairmont GXL 1977.
Xw Fairmont 1970. Still have.
Fairmont EB 1993. Sadly just got rid off this year after 9 years.
Xr6T 2003 Falcon BA. Now driving.

Hello Ford Forum,
Pete is my name in lovely Adelaide, have owned a EF Flacon for 8yrs that has served me well for 200000k needs the head done as leaking from the back. What brought me to the forum is I have just purchased a new SZ Territory. Will be looking for all the tweaks and advice others have to share, and hopefully anything I pick up on the way that I can return I will.
Hope to be doing quite a few trips with the van.

Hi Everyone,
I"m from Radelaide, have owned a few fords over the years, current ones parked in my stable include a 1966 XP Falcon sedan, a ZD laine and a XY fairmont, the XY was the most recent addition to the family. Unfortunately the ZD has to be sold off to make room for the XY, but the XY is a nice clean streeter so i can live with the loss of the ZD. Thought i would join up to get tech help and meet a few like minded ppl who enjoy the blue oval product.

Gentlemen, Ladies and "others".
I've been reading all the vastly informative info here for some time.
Thank you all for your input, it is very helpful.
I owned a BA XR6 Turbo ute for a couple of years. I'm having withdrawal symptoms.
I'd like to buy a Super Pursuit ute, definitely auto for my declining years.
Does anyone know of one for sale at a reasonable price? I realise that price is usually decided by the kms and condition of the vehicle. I'm not concerned about high kms unless you guys think it's too high a risk.
I guess diffs are still a problem, my turbo's diff was whining at 45000 kms.
Any other issues I should be concerned about?
Thanks in advance.
