Yeah, I overindulged just a little. I struggled to get through it too. Hence the food coma lingering through to today.....

The preparation of more food than a starving football team of teenagers could consume is an inherited trait. Something i got from my mum who got it from her mum. Runs right through her siblings' families, too.

Pulled up at local BP servo, walking back to car and parked behind me was a Ford Thunderbird year unknown, it was painted flat Black, so cool, give the driver a smile and thumbs up, same in return, wondered if he is a Perth member of AFF

After many months of waiting, the rims I ordered finally arrived and have now been fitted. Washed the car (and now its raining!)
I'd been dicking about with a front right rim that slowly lost pressure, another damaged rim on the rear and a couple of bald tyres for too long.

The online image of these rims was a bit deceiving in that the dish appeared to be at least twice as deep as the actual product, however I am quite happy with my choice. The charcoal works well with the black I think.

I wanted the American Racing Torq rims in the same colour but the offsets were not suitable so googled rims for what felt like 6 weeks looking for something else that I liked.

Edit - In the background you can see what the ute used to wear

It's been a rough couple of weeks but I reckon I have got this project heading in the right direction. I said 1-2 week delay and so far I have 1 week in the hand

I wish all these ******** paper pushers who do nothing and only want to waste time with meetings would just get out of the ****en way

Just give me God access to the corporate SQL cluster where I don't have to deal with anyone and it will be done a lot quicker

Wow that looks good, can't live without our air fryer it's the most used thing in the kitchen.

I'm having a go at growing some spuds. Its been the mystery of my life for the past couple of months. Is there anything down there?
I couldn't help myself this morning so I went for a rummage through the dirt, I can feel a few and was in a cheeky mood so I bought one up for a closer look. Its not much but its a start.

Playing the “long game” vs “I want it NOW” has found me the exact NOS lock kit I wanted/needed for the DD. They’ve been getting so bad I open from one door and lock from the other (no remote).

Eventually, after several months of intermittent searching, tracked down a listing on a European Fleabay page - no freight to Australia. Sent a polite message with a flattering (40-foot ) picture of my car to validate. The response? “No problem”.

So i hadnt run my rc car since early last week as i actually had meaningful stuff to do for a change. But since then i upgraded the axles from the stock plastic ones to steel ones. So obviously theyre heavier, i was a tad surprised at how significantly heavier they are. But what really surprised me was how noticable the performance improved. So i had no doubts the brushless motor couldnt handle the added rotating mass as its overpowered for the gearing as it is. So, ive got the limited suspension adjustments adjusted to where i like it, axles dont affect the weight of the chassis per say, total weight yes, but not what the suspension sees. So more weight down low has lowered the centre of gravity making it corner better. So it still wheelies on comand, but with the plastic axles and less weight over the front, to launch it and keep the front wheels down to take advantage of 4x4, you'd really have to ease on the power. With the extra weight over the front, you dont have to ease in as slowly launching it and can ramp in the power earlier, so improving acceleration. The major surprise to me was braking. So stock with 100% braking force it was touchy. Backed the brake force to 70% on stock axles it was good. Steel axles, 70% brakes it was way to touchy. My logic was greater rotating mass would make braking worse, but i guess its due to lower centre of gravity. So backed the brakes off to 60% and they're still a bit touchy but managable. So might back it off further. Also the new axles are cvd's as opposed to the stock ones being universal joints. So a better design with less moving parts, so less to potentially break.
So my initial thoughts of reliability with the sacrifice of performance were dead wrong. And situations like that im more then happy to be wrong.

Sort of, but its more one of those to hold off insanity kind of things. I haven't been able to work due to current circumstances for a long while now. A hobby, well, that came after car/home/yard maintenance. Once all thats done, its not a daily or weekly thing, hence nothing to do. The rc car stuff, i can do that without breaking any 'rules'. And any minor improvement, well, beats the crap out of watching daytime TV.

Big winds here in Perth, went to bed early just tired, woke at 2am to the sound of wind and my 2 wheely bins rolling down the driveway then crashing over, not enough weight in em I suppose.

Got up and put the billy on, went outside in galeforce like wind and rain and moved bins on road against gutter!
Looked up and down street and 3 of my 8 neighbours same as me, so thought I'm here, cold and wet so may as well do other 6 bins too.
No rubbish spilled, just too light for wind, full bins stayed put!
Dident tell em what I did, but Samantha next door mentioned how useless the garbo was, for leaving her bins in the road!..lol..I just shutup

being told that surgery is a real option to get me away from a CPAP machine for the rest of my life, yewww

I'm almost 40 and not overweight, I was told recently that CPAP was the only solution for me to get sleep and keep my HC licence.

saw a sleep specialist today and after he took the time to actually look at me as a person instead of a walking wallet to bleed for years to come he said surgery was the go.

It took about 2 seconds to say my tonsils were grade 4 (huge) and getting them taken out should solve my issues.. off to the ENT in the coming months.

My GP didn't even look at me, he sent me straight to a company to conduct a sleep test and magically they said I need a CPAP and for only $20 a week for 3 years they could sell me one... I wasn't offered any other solutions, diet, exercise, sleep positions.

I had asked for a referral to an ENT and today's appointment with the specialist was to get papers signed to keep my licence.. to date everyone has just suggested I give up my HC to skip the hassle.

A new GP could be on the shopping list soon, he has also made a dodgy call or two with my parents recently

Good luck with your licence and income and lifestyle, I had 7 GP'S in one regional practice in WA, the 7th was the best, they were sent there as part of there assessment to practice in Australia?

Like mechanics, there's one on every corner, it's a hassle but you will find the right one

It was arranged that I do the sleep apnea test. so reluctantly did so, had two glasses of wine had myself all plugged in and the flamin thing they put on your finger was the most painful all night. Sleep like a log The wife had been talking about separate beds.

That was 3 months ago, I have slept soundly quietly ever since, in fact Ive been prodded at night to make sure I am still breathing. NO MORE SNORING.
no one can explain it but the snoring decided to find someone else to annoy, but its transferred to the dam dog, fair go she will be in the laundry room very soon.

Be careful doing those tests, re impacting your drivers licence.

yep, I found this out the painful way.

Had to get paperwork signed yesterday after the specialist looked at my sleep reports from the CPAP machine.

he is confident that once the tonsils come out then I should be ok.

see him again for a sleep test 3 months after surgery and he thinks he will be able to say i'm good with no more annual reviews required.
