That kind of makes sense. However, in the limited domestics i have done, im yet to come accross an external single brick wall thats anywhere near as nice on the inside as the outside. Yeah theres brick ties, but surely with just a frame and not sheeted it couldnt take too much time to trowel of the inside of the external.

Why would anyone waste time tidying up the inside of a brick wall that is going to get covered over??

BCA, pride of workmanship, respect for trades following?

Nobody uses cavity battens anymore, there's no frugality with mud, and washouts are only done twice a day - mid morning and packing up time.

Generic charging wires for devices that are made so 'on the cheap' that they take all day to charge something because the wire they used was too thin.

Spend the extra 3c per unit and use an extra few strands of copper for goodness sake...

Today i got an urgent call out. No lights in the kitchen or bathrooms in a warehouse. So i drop everything and make the drive out. No circuits tripped. The contact made it sound as if everything worked this morning. But that was a flat out lie. 30 odd lamps are blown. So the last 1 or 2 must have died over night. Being the end of my day, i just put a few lamps in here or there to atleast light the place, i didnt have many lamps in the car. But they can wait until i have the time now.

They’re not made of thin wire, they have a chip which tells the device if it’s apple approved. I’ve bought them before, they work for a little while, then the device gets stroppy and wont take charge from it. That’s why you get the “this device is unsupported” pop up. How much support does a charging cable need?

Hmmmm

I took my wire back to the shop along with my LG phone and asked the chap if the wire should have that Apple chip thinggy and if so how will it communicate with my phone to charge faster.

He was just as confused as me.

Thin wire is thin wire.... oh, and I don't do fruit.

This one to a degree really annoys me. I was working in am office today and they have various posters around. Hand washing etc. But the one that really annoyed me was the do's and donts for dealing with people with a physical or gross motor disability. The only valid point was give extra time if its an online response. Thats a fair call if you only have 1 arm or whatever. I personally have a minor disability, but no one knows unless i tell them, and i dont. But the rest was just patronising as if a person with a physical or motor disability is stupid. Stuff like speak slow and clear. Dont make long paragraphs and stuff like that. Thats so dumb. Just because some people might not be so able bodied doesnt mean their brains dont work. My main personal experience was when i temporarily lost function from my left elbow down. Yes it shows the best in humanity when people want to help, but the statement can i help you with that, not do you want a hand annoyed me. But i had worked it out. So that was only a 6 week ordeal being 1 armed. But people just show pity. I work in equal oportunity places and you dont treat people different. I also work in places with people with physical disabilities, and you treat them the same as anyone else. If they want a hand they ask. And thats perfectly fine.
But these posters were absolutely patronising.
I mean, i had 1 client i worked for for 3 years and one day i i asked a question and she kept walking off. So i tapped her on the shoulder. Turns out she was completely deaf. I couldnt tell. I speak quickly too.

Sometimes i just hate mates. So last night i had the fire pit blazing. Smaller fire wood i split with a lump hammer and chissel. Bigger stuff i use my chainsaw. So i grabbed my chainsaw and a big bit, but me mate says we (the royal we, meaning me) could split that with a chissel. I got very close to making an ebay listing. Excaliber, a set of 5 chissels trapped for eternity in a piece of fire wood.

Selfish, inconsiderate morons who walk their dogs without a lead!!

Walking my dog this morning, a Blue Healer raced up behind us in full attack mode. I turn around to find a person on a mobility scooter waving sorry about half a block away. Luckily the dog returned to it owner, and I voiced my displeasure. I will give this person a spray if I see them again on my morning walk.

You are lucky to a degree. My sisters last dog passed due to old age and health issues, but before that the lovable thing got ripped appart in one of the off the leash dog parks. 2k and many stitches later willy was ok but never the same. He was a smaller cross breed, but still, he got torn into by something larger that shouldnt be aggressive, yet had not been socialised or trained so the owners should not have been as ignorant as they were to not pay attention for one, and really the dog should have not been left to do what it wants around other canines. My sisters dog had lived its life being bossed around by her cat. Her cat was older then he was, and he was old, so he wouldnt bite anything harder then the contents of a can of chum.

Ive been on annual leave for a few weeks. I still answer the phone to work, its all little 2 second questions, so thats all fine. My manager is a good mate of mine so we chat socially. He was telling me about the scathing wtf email he got from one of my good clients. This client is a good mate of mine. So months ago the power factor correction unit had an issue. So i reset it, spoke to my mate the building manager and said we can arrange a service if you raise a PO. We outsource PFC services. Anyhow, he never did that. So earlier this week it crapped out again. The new guy went in, reset it and went off on his merry way. It crapped out again that night. My manager told the other service guy, stressed to him, tell the building manager exactly what you found and what you did. He did that.
But the wtf email had a PO attached for a PFC service, but questioned why (my question is why it wasnt actioned months ago) it was not suggested either time this week, yet was months ago (again recommended, but not actioned)? The boys better not have killed the good thing i had going with that building manager, he took my mob with him when he moved buildings. Ive known the bloke for over a decade and he has become a good mate of mine in that time.

Just got a new phone - Samsung S10. Great that I can't reduce the picture resolution, only the aspect ratio meaning the smallest picture is still around 9mp.

Just great when you need to take dozens of shots of stuff to upload to ebay etc using your mobile data.

I'll have to see f there is a picture taking app that caters for low resolution images.

Try 'Camera ICS'. That one comes down to 0.9 megapixels or even VGA and lets you set the jpeg quality as well.

But even when you do put them back neatly, somehow they get themselves tangled before you use it again. I reckon its those little blue people in the night.

Used to bug me walking down the finger wharf at the marina's, some people would leave all their power leads and mooring lines just piled in a mess all over the dock.

Extention cords, i dislike when people do the over the elbow wind up, that makes them curly. You can tape them and do the roll up, but my preference is hand over hand, big loops. No comment on one bloke i know who does leads in the tightest coils possible. One trick i dont use for anything thats not a vaccum cleaner with a 10m cord is something i learnt off a cleaner. If you double back the cord then roll it up, grab one end and throw it and it unravels easy. Another thing i heard from a different kind of cleaner was dead people are easier to deal with then alive ones. She was a forensic cleaner who clearly had been desensitized on the scene of something i am not. Some cleaners have more practical advice.

Little blue people? Smurfs?

I roll my cords over the elbow, but start from the middle and go out. Seems to minimise them taking a “set”.
