Default Superload - Vic, 1st to 4th April

Thought this may be of interest to those in south Vic.

https://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/news...d-1-to-4-april

The load is a generator stator which is heading off to Germany for a refurb. The stator weighs in at 255 tonne.

Good opportunity to see a load that doesn't travel that often. If you're not interested in seeing the load, at least be aware of the road network impacts, eg:

Quote:
The journey from Nar Nar Goon and Longwarry on the night of 1 & 2 April will cause the most disruption as the superload will be travelling on the wrong side of the Princes Highway. Expect delays due to detours.

I understand at least one of the companies involved in this project will be making a video of the move.

As an example, this video is of a 100m long superload, weighing in at 390 tonne. The load being moved tomorrow is 125m long and 615 tonne.

Disappointing to see we need to ship this halfway around the world instead of rebuilding it here in Australia

For anyone interested, the company doing the load move has released a video of the move.

Knowing bugger all about trucks, I've always been interested in how they make sure each truck is doing its share, ie the load is evenly distributed. I realise they'd all have uhf radios, but does anyone know how they make sure one's not coasting and the next isn't busting a foofer?
