Hey,
I've just started putting together my dream car (78 XC Wagon) and I've bought a set of Centreline rims. I was wondering what suggestions people had about the brands and size of tyres that would look good on this vintage of car. The Front rims are 15"x8" and the back are 15"x9". Thanks for the input. I will post some images once she starts to take shape. Cheers Last edited by dwyw27; 15-11-2016 at 03:33 PM. |

Bridgestone Eagers with the raised white lettering.
Not sure what sizes they come in though. Or BF Goodrich Radial T/A's http://www.tyreshack.com.au/bf-goodr...25-60-r15.html |

Maybe things have changed, but from my experience +20 years ago, BFG TA's were truly an awful in the wet (the worst tyre ever), they were however wonderful for burnouts (lovely smoke).

Dunlop do A SP Sport Maxx GT 255/60r15 for $236ea on Tyroola.com.au
probably a better tyre for grip than anything else apart from an M/T street radial T/A's are terrible and Eagers cost way too much I have Mastercraft Avenger GT's on my tonner and in the wet forget it, its like ice skating

Thanks for the information. Lots of options to choose from. I'm enjoying the process of researching the different suggestions.
Just another question. Will these tyre set-ups fit a 78 XC wagon? 225 60 R15 (front) & 245 60 R15 (back) OR 235 60 R15 (front) & 255 60 R15 (back) And if both fit which option would people recommend? Thanks again Cheers |

Can you still get 50 series in 15" TA's and Bridgestones?

You probably don't want 235s up front. 245s-265s tucked under the rear with 215s-225s up front for me.....love XC wagons (maybe 50 series for a 265?) |
