I've had a few issues with my XR50. All were fixed by a Ford dealer (that didn't sell me the car) with no fuss and a loan car as well. (The dealer that sold me the car is 2 hours away thus me going to a different dealer.)
Some dealers are better than others when it comes to customer service.

Buying an XR6T, then complaining about axle tramp is akin to buying your wife implants, then complaining about how they feel like playdoh wrapped in glad wrap.
You knew exactly what you were buying into - deal with it. Last edited by XG_Falcon; 23-11-2015 at 04:55 PM. |

Best idea to stop Axle tramp is a $5.00 fix. Get a piece of piano wire (or equivalent) and tie one end to the accelerator and the other around your testicles. This is a sure fire way to prevent axle tramp from ever occuring again. Please note: Does not work with women.
(sorry if anyone is affended by the above) |

Man you pulled this same Ally McBeal spiel back in 2013. The only class you should be concerned about is at a driving school.

I've just returned from the UK where I drove a VW Passat manual and it had excellent handling, ride and steering, but compared to my XR6 T it felt very slow (81 kW max power apparently). However in the wet accelerating from a start, there were a number of occasions when it tramped quite violently in the low grip conditions. My Turbo is normally quite good, although tramp can be a problem if grip is particularly low (I generally have some weight in the boot which helps). I may be wrong, but from what I can work out most cars will tramp in certain conditions. I've even seen a top end Ferrari (on the TV) doing it badly on a fast takeoff. As far as diff noise is concerned I must be lucky, I'm just past 100 K's and the diff is still quiet. Last edited by 2242100; 23-11-2015 at 07:40 PM. |

It's when there is a hobo living in your axel and he makes your car perform not as expected.

I don't have an FG or FGX but will join your futile lawsuit if I can - even though we have no grounds, surely Ford will settle and we will get much currency.
My daughters want in too - they are only 5 and 8, and the 8 year old thinks you are kidding yourself (she says put down the pipe and learn to drive, but wants in just in case). Is their age an issue? Should point out neither owns an FG or FG-X. Let me know, and looking forward to our big win-fall - thanks for driving this. |

To fix the axel tramp in the turbo utes is easy. Put a set of Tramp Rods on from a BF RTV. This braces the diff under acceleration. Just like the old XA , XB GT's.

I remember the time my local dealer that I didn't buy my car from or get it serviced at replaced my gearbox and diff bushes under warranty even though it had a big shiny process west surge tank sitting about 10cm from the trans.
Ford warranty sucks. |

I don't have axel tramp on my FG ute, as I don't have an axel.

Titan Ford told me diff whine and axle tramp are caused by the floor mats. Global warming is also associated with Ford Floor mats

It would work if it didn't raise the rear end of the ute by a fair amount.
